Vehicle Detail

LOCAL PICKUP ONLY, IF BUYER REQUIRES SHIPPING IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO ORGANIZE, ARRANGE, AND PAY FOR. Car was known to been in storage for years and odometer reads 67k miles, which based on its condition it is believe to be accurate but it is not a guarantee there is a chance it flipped and reads 167k which either way is low miles. The car was bought at an auction with plans to restore and all info we have about the vehicle was supplied to us by the auctioneers. During the auction the car started, drove forward and in reverse, and stopped. Then was parked for years with plans to restore but never got around to it. This car is such a gem and would make such a beautiful restoration project I figure its better to sell it to someone that will do something with it soon, instead of just letting it sit and start to rot. The body is near perfect and only has a couple small dents on driver's front fender. It has almost all its original pieces and trim in great condition. The paint is aftermarket but the stock color, the interior is stock and original, the convertible top is original stock with a glass defrosted rear window. There is next to no surface rust on the body besides some on the wheels. Common to these old VWs is rust on the rear passenger side of the pan that led to a hole under the battery which will require a patch to repair. There is in expensive pan replacement panels made for easy repairs of this exact problem. We had plans on this spring pulling the car out and beginning its cleaning and restoration process. The more work we perform the higher the price will go. Once this car is completed and completely restored by us it will be a $10,000 car easier. If you would like to order the car finished we can work out a deposit from you to hold the vehicle and begin work where you can pick the paint color, style and type of interior, wheels and tires, and etc. We would take a deposit of half the sale price of the car, then as the car is completed in stages after the paint another 25% would be required, another 25% after the interior is completed, and the remaining balance will be due at time of vehicle pickup by the owner or shipping company. The deposits are non-refundable if the buyer just changes their mind until a new buyer is found and the car is sold at that point 80% of the deposit will be refunded minus a sellers fee from having to relist and sell the car a second time. If you have any questions please send me a message for more information. An interesting bit of information I found the original 1978 Volkswagen owners manual and other dealers books and paperwork given to the first buyer back in 1977 showing the car initial inspection sign off the dealer went thru prior to delivering them the car checking off the car's original features and condition. There was also the original service repair manual showing the different pages of routine service the service department stamped off on each time the car was brought in for its routine maintenance & oil changes. The service forms show the car was purchased right here in Seattle at Carter Volkswagen who also performed and signed off on inside the book for each service call that was performed. There was also a warranty card from Midas Muffler showing a life time guarantee for the muffler installed by the owner in 1984. It appears there was only 2 owners since this vehicle was new and then went into storage for many years which is the rare event that led to this car being in such great physical condition compared to most vehicles left in a barn to sit for a decade or more besides all the dirt and dead leaves left on it over the last few years its been stored in my backyard. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CONVERTIBLE SUPER BEETLE TO RESTORE AROUND THIS YEAR YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER CAR TO START A COMPLETE RESTORATION WITH. I HATE TO SEE IT GO BUT AS A CAR NUT I HATE TO SEE IT JUST SIT IN A FIELD. I AM AFRAID I JUST WONT MAKE TIME FOR THIS PROJECT SOON ENOUGH. AND I WOULD HATE EVEN MORE TO SEE THIS CAR JUST SIT AND BEGIN TO RUST AWAY. COME SEE AND BUY THIS GEM TODAY, YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID! Please message me with any questions. Thanks for viewing.
