Hi, I am selling this 914 on behalf of my father, if you are looking at this then you already know about these cars so I will just concentrate on giving you as much info and history of this one as I can. My Father is retired Air Force and has owned this 914 since 1976,he is the 2nd owner, it has followed him back and forth across the Atlantic 4 or 5 times to the UK every time he got re-stationed between the two countries. The car is currently in my garage in Milton PA. My Father is currently in upstate NY doing his best Grizzly Adams impression at his cabin in the middle of nowhere, he will be returning to his home state IL the first week of March. So.. anybody who ends up with this vehicle has the choice of picking it up from PA, or waiting until my father returns to IL, if that is the case he will trailer the car from my house to IL, but not until first week of March, so depending on who buys the car and the location in the US, one may work better than the other. Keep in mind, the title is in IL though, so would have to be mailed to winning bidder, again not until first week of March. Onto the car itself, it has many new parts as can be seen in the pics, new bumper tops, all the seals are new, apart from front rear screens, door rubbers, trunk seals, everything. bumpers were removed, blasted and powder coated before new tops were fitted, also wheels have been blasted and powder coated black. Engine decklid rusty hinge problem has been taken care of with custom bolt on ones, as well as trunk lid shocks fitted, see photos. engine is currently on twin webbers and started first time this morning after 5 mths in my garage. I have noticed a small drip coming from sump plug area, nothing serious as my father drove it all over NY and Canada this summer and had no idea about it when I mentioned it to him. I have taken pics of all the floors with no carpets so you can see it is absolutely solid in all those areas. Car was originally silver, at some time in UK he had it re done in red (Guards Red), rubber fender seams were removed near windscreen and gotten rid of as I guess these are a problem area, and smoothed over, car does have a few signs of minor rust in all the areas I have pointed at in the Pics with a screwdriver, From looking at others for sale it seems the same areas are always an issue. one headlight has seen better days (cheap fix). Suspension gearbox and brakes all good. Windscreen has some fine scratches in it, maybe polish out? they are more like brillo pad scratches than anything deep. rear screen defroster wires on the glass have been removed as they were corroded anyway. Drivers seat has a small tear, again easy fix, new wiper arms and blades, roof was sanded down and re-finished with a hard wearing material, inside doors all solid as are bottoms of doors. This car comes with a mass of spares as well, I am not sure what exactly but these are in IL and would need to be picked up by winning bidder. I have covered pretty much everything I know about the car, if you have any questions please ask and I will try and track down my Father for some answers, he does have limited cell reception in the woods however, so it may not be immediate.
