The Jaguar XK8 is a grand tourer designed by Geoff Lawson and built in Coventry, England. It is arguably one of the most beautiful cars ever built. It has a powerful 4.0-litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. It has all-leather interior, and burl walnut trim. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test-drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace. This car bespeaks elegance and class. I am sorry to part with it, but we no longer live in Miami and have no need for a car here. The car is in good condition. Leather shows age appropriate crackling. A tiny pinhole in the front is barely noticeable (it predates me, so I am not sure of the origin). In the last two years I’ve invested approximately $2K in various mechanical upgrades. The car has been serviced by a top-notch Jaguar mechanic and all service records are available. On Feb-01-17 at 14:04:06 PST, seller added the following information: Additional notes: The current mileage is actually 69,556 -- 50 miles more than indicated in the listing and shown in the photo. The radio and the cassette/CD player are not working. The radio turns on, displays correct frequency, allows you to change from AM to FM and surf frequencies or select a station, however, there is no sound. The problem is not with the radio per se, but with the volume knob. It only works insofar as when you push it, it turns the radio on or off. However, when you turn it, it doesn't change the volume, which is set at 0 -- hence no sound. Once the volume knob is fixed, the radio and the cassette/CD player will work. There is a small chip of paint missing on the side of the hood, not noticeable at all from a few steps away. But on close examination, when you know where to look, the chip of paint is missing, although what's underneath is of similar color, so it is not noticeable. The trunk open button on the dashboard and on the electronic key (which locks and unlocks the car as it should) doesn't open the trunk -- you have to open it manually. I have a brand new battery charger I bought last year, but never used -- it comes with the car at no additional charge. I also have a sun shade for the window -- also comes free with the car. I wrote in the description that the retractable roof recently stopped working -- it is not opening. I played with it a bit today, and here is what's happening. When I push the button, the rare windows go down, as they should and the roof starts opening. After it opens about an inch, it hesitates and then closes and latches properly. You can hear the motor working trying to open it, but tt seems like something got stuck somewhere that prevents it from opening all the way, so after it tries to open unsuccessfully, it closes down. It shouldn't be hard to fix. In view of the fact that the retractable roof is not working properly, I am lowering the Buy It Now price from $6,451 to $5,950.
