The talented builders at the legendary Elco Welding have a keen eye for solid, straight cars from their dry Southern California digs. We couldn't pass up this Hudson, an older restoration that was garaged in a dry desert climate. The paint is brilliant, with only a couple minor chips, dings, and touch ups, the kind of patina you would expect on a solid driver. The chrome is thick and flawless. The interior is opulent, no wear or tears. The car has been upgraded with a twelve volt alternator and new wiring harness. All the lights, gauges, switches, heater, wipers work, only the radio is non- operational since it is the original six volt. Bob, and his partner Ben, grew up around Hudsons, and brought a combined 90 years experience to the refurbishing of this Hornet. New radial white walls were mounted on the wire wheels, new brake cylinders, shoes, and drums installed, in addition to new front springs, and electronic ignition.The car has been on several long distance road trips, and is thoroughly shaken down.
