Vehicle Detail
Please scroll down below this description for tons of detailed pics of the bike. Depending on your internet speed, they may take a while to load. We have the listing set up to accept bids only from US bidders in an effort to prevent scammers from ruining the auction. If you are a legitimate bidder outside of the US and you have a way to have the bike picked up at our location without it being crated, e-mail Chris at chris@motoworkschicago.com. Provide him with your ebay ID and confirm that you can arrange international shipping and have the bike picked up uncrated at our location in Chicago, and he will add you to the list that allows you to bid. This is a 2014 Triumph Tiger 800XC that we built in cooperation with Castrol/Triumph/Icon to compete in the NORRA Mexican 1000 and the Alcan 5000. It's with a heavy dose of sentimentality that I list this machine for sale. But it would be a shame to let her sit. She needs a new rider to take her on some adventures. This is a very well sorted machine. Upgrades include: Seat Concepts Seat: $300 Rally Raid UK rear auxillary fuel tank: $650 Safari 8 gallon gas tank: $850 Flexx handlebars: $400 GPR steering stabilizer with mount: $550 Arrow exhaust: $700 Garmin Montana mount: $50 Triumph "shorty" clutch and brake levers: $125 IMS custom oversized footpegs: $150 Rally Raid UK Belly Pan: $300 Ohlins full fork internal kit freshened and set for 220 pound load: $1800 Ohlins rear shock, just freshened: $1200 Woodys super lace wheels (two sets): $2500 R&G case covers: $200 Handguards: $100 The suspension is amazing. The engine is bone stock. Due to the ABS sensor rings being removed, at times the bike only shows 2,970 miles. Actual mileage is 6,250. The bike is in great shape. She has small wear and tear everywhere, but is very nice. She is a total joy to ride. The handlebar set up allows for great comfort on the road and long days off pavement. The suspension totally changes the bike. The suspension has less than 100 miles on it since a freshen at the Ohlins factory. After I returned from the Alcan 5000 we did a full major service as well. She holds 10 gallons of fuel with the front and rear tanks full. The bike comes with a spare frame still in the wrapper, a spare set of wheels and a box of spares including stock handlebars, stock combi switches, etc. Just adding up the list of mods above comes to $12,500, but that doesn't account for the development process. We bought a lot of different goodies to try different set-ups and determine what were the best items to install on the bike. This is a highly developed machine. We put a lot of love into making her a comfy but super high-performing adventure bike. Basically, you are buying the bike for the price of the mods. The development and the bike itself are free. There are 120 pictures below detailing the condition of the bike. Please look at all of them carefully and ask any questions you have before bidding. You can call Chris at 773-474-1744, e-mail him at chris@motoworkschicago.com, or contact him through ebay. It's located at Motoworks in the city of Chicago. If you are local and would like to see it in person, please call 773-474-1744 to set up an appointment. Shipping a motorcycle can be expensive, so be sure to look into it before bidding. The zip code is 60608 to help in figuring shipping. Our recommendation for a great shipper is Danny at D&K Services. He can be reached at 973-534-7823. If you are an Illinois resident, we must process the title application for you (it is the same cost as if you bought it from a private party). If you are an Illinois resident or a resident of any of the states that reciprocate with Illinois on vehicle tax, we must collect sales tax on the vehicle based on the tax rate of your state (Arizona: 5.6%, California: 6.25%, Florida: 6%, Hawaii: 4%, Indiana: 6.25%, Massachusetts: 6.25%, Michigan: 6%, South Carolina: 5%). If you are not an Illinois resident, we must issue a $10 temporary license plate. No matter what state you live in, we have a documentation fee of $165. Winning bidder picks up in Chicago or arranges for/pays for all shipping/crating. We can deliver it locally for $1.50 per mile round trip ($20 minimum). $500 deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours of auction close. Remainder via one of the standard payment methods within seven days. No PayPal for remainder unless you contact us first. The bike is to be picked up within three weeks of auction close. $25 per week storage fee after that.
