1969 Cougar. This car sat outside a small ford dealership for 10 years as a eye catcher for possible customers. When the dealership closed two ford mechanics replaced the lifters, rebuilt the carb or replaced it, I cant remember, and tuned it up. And I mean tuned it up. This car will move! No knocks pings creeks or groaning this thing wants to go. Has a 351w 4bbl believe its original, fmx trans that shifts just fine and a 9" rear. Power front disc brakes, dual exhaust. interior was super clean. Mechanic sold it to a guy who replaced the gas tank and fuel line. Bought this car in 07, installed new starter, 100% brake replacement and axle seals. Then found a new job that shifts me around the clock on a weekly basis and found it very hard to find time to work on it. Car has been sitting under a cover for three years. pulled off cover to find headliner coming down and seat stitches coming loose. As much as I hate to I cant keep up with it and has to go. Surface rust has begun to show and the paint is showing its age. Windshield has big crack running down the center and I dont know how that happened. It will take a bit to get car going but nothing drastic. Has brand new tires, the headlight covers operate as should the sequencial blinkers are in intermittent working order. the vinyl top has two holes at rear window. the trunk stays dry but the weather striping around windows is almost gone. hole in bottom of console is for cig lighter and there is brand new one in glove box. Magnet reveals Not bondo.
