2004 XJ8, with really nice exterior and interior condition. I bought this car off of lease back in 2009 with 20,000 miles on it for my wife and it has been an outstanding daily driver that I'm going to be hard pressed to replace to her satisfaction. The only thing I ever did to this car was change the oil and filter and air filter: change the front disc brakes and the water pump. I did have the head liner replaced about a year ago and it looks first class. Unfortunately the guy broke the plastic rail inside the roof on the passenger side. The roof still works but you have to "guide" it shut if you use it. I'm not a sun roof guy so I don't miss it but you would have to fix it if you want to use it. Now it has a couple of warning lights on and it does need some items repaired so I'm letting it go. The "Parking Brake Fault" light came on a few days ago for no apparent reason. The "Air Suspension Fault" light came on some time back but the ride is ok although it seems a bit low at times. You can hear the compressor pump up but it is probably time for some coil over shocks or repair whatever is wrong. The front end squeaks fairly consistently now so some bushings are going to have to be serviced. About a year ago the engine started making a rattling sound for a split second upon start up and then goes away. I have an idea it might be a tensioner on one of the cams but I do not know for sure what it is. It can't be a rod bearing because we've put about 15,000 miles on it since I first heard it and the car still idles and runs great. Still have no trouble passing somebody when I want to. I have attached a picture of the replacement upper timing chain kit I bought a long time ago to possibly address the issue and it goes with the car. After reading the instructions on the replacement procedure I think I'll have to pass on that one. The tires have about 1/3 life left and the spare is the original Michelin Pilot on an immaculate rim. Next time I put tires on I was going to put the spare rim on the ground as the left rear rim is getting a lot of visible road rash. The air conditioning is cold, the CD player works and none of the speakers are blown. All the windows work as well as the seats. They and the steering wheel are heated. Overall the exterior is in great original condition except for the rear bumper paint in one spot where a young girl tagged me at a stoplight. No real damage but I have attached a picture showing the cracking in the paint n the top center of the bumper. Both fog light lens are broken and I've replaced them before but with the freeway driving down here and the rocks thron up, i haven't replaced them anymore. They need new lenses and grill gaurds. I believe you can drive this car home wherever that may be and not have any problems but I'm selling this car "as is, where is" due to the conditions I have described. The tags and Inspection in Texas are good until the end of the year. There is no warranty what so ever and I believe the low reserve price on this car reflects the repairs you may have to do. It's a great car that needs a new home. Let me know if you have any questions or want another picture of something.
