Time to sell my 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket Eighty Eight Fastback. This car has been kept has original as I could, ( without braking the BANK ) When it was first bought it went into a private collection .That owner ended up with 22 cars , and this was his favorite one. The news paper story goes along with this sell. The Ca. (49Rockt) Lic. Plate goes with the car ONLY if it is sold to A Ca. resident. The car is 6 volt with a new 6V Optima battery It starts up every time , runs smooth,and the 4 speed Hydramatic hits all 4 gears like it should . Some one added Power Steering( Not Me ) and this add on makes it a dream to drive. I to not go over 50mph Because the 15 inch Radial Tires are great to look at,( But are OLD) and not safe for the freeways. this is the Orgi. 303ci but we think the Air Conditioning was added at about the time the car left the factory. The A/C clutch engages and the unit under the dash blows cool air ,I think it needs some R12 very hard to get in Ca. All the gauges in the Dash are working, speedo miles gas amp.temp.oil pres. horn- wipers . Not the am radio- Not the window washers, the old glass jar is still under the hood .Just look at the Interior this has all been redone,and has a nice firm seat. the glass is all in great shape, BUT at the edge of all glass it is foggy OLD. All windows go up and down like they should . The chrome and stainless are all there and as you can see by the photos it is just great looking . The paint is the only thing to do.
