This truck has been turning heads locally as a weekend driver for years, and is still one of the best-looking classic Ford trucks on the road. Only two caring owners since new, and it shows. It is in exceptionally well-maintained original mechanical condition, as well as being extremely straight with original paint and no presentation of rust. Details as follows: Original 1978 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat Camper Special pickup with the top-of-the-line XLT Lariat package in factory-original White with Dark Ginger Brown metallic side trim (a Cinnamon Brown/Red color); a beautiful and rare color combination. This truck is fully loaded with the hard-to-find XLT Lariat trim package in and out, working Air Conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and cruise control. The rare factory Camper Special package adds a heavy-duty rear axle with 3.54 gearing, HD suspension, HD brakes, HD cooling system, and adjustable sliding rear HD bumper. This truck is completely original with the exception of the new wheels & tires, a new windshield & gasket, and the upgraded Flow Master exhaust system. This is an absolutely beautiful unmolested "survivor" truck with all the right options. These unmodified and original-paint trucks are getting harder and harder to find. The White and Dark Ginger Brown metallic tu-tone paint is original, and remains in very nice shiny condition, as you can see. The truck still looks like a million bucks, and is as straight as you might find anywhere. Very straight body panels, good glass throughout (including a brand-new windshield and seal), nice Camper Special sliding rear bumper, and excellent original chrome front bumper. Super nice XLT Lariat stainless side "Race Track" trim and stainless tailgate panel, nice grilles, bezels, and original factory towing mirrors (*can be turned in or out), etc. A beautiful truck that turns heads wherever it goes. The engine is the original 460 4-barrel V8 with only 120k original miles. The engine starts easily and runs smoothly, with good oil pressure and no bottom end or valve train noise... a very sound and well-maintained engine. New Flow Master exhaust system with factory exhaust manifolds sounds smooth and powerful. Fresh tune-up parts, fluids, and filters. The truck is turnkey and ready to roll. The truck drives extremely well, and tracks straight down the road with brand-new radial tires. She steers easily with true power steering (not “power assist” as in earlier years), and brakes well and straight. In summary, the truck is a real pleasure to drive. The cruise control still works, and the air conditioning works properly, it could benefit from a recharge to blow ice-cold again. The underside of the truck is just as clean rust-free as well. The rockers, frame, cab mounts, corners, etc. are exceptional. No rust presentation in the bed floor, either. The windows roll up and down properly, and the glass is good throughout. The interior is original and in very nice condition, and features original carpet, nice original dash & gauges in working order, working heater and A/C, cruise control, lights, turn signals, and wipers. Minor wear on the original seat upholstery and driver’s side floor carpet areas. The special Lariat door panels and headliner are present and nice. Overall, a very good “survivor quality” original interior enjoyable exactly as-is. This is fantastic original classic Ford you can climb in and enjoy exactly as-is. Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for inspection, export, etc. You may call me directly at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have. While every effort has been made to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible, it is in fact a 38-year-old classic car, and therefore being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. Please be ready to make payment in full within 3 days of auction’s end via deposit into my Bank of America account, or bank wire transfer. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I own a classic car restoration shop and can recommend a reliable and affordable broker who I have used many times... ultimately the choice must be yours alone. Again, feel free to call me directly at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have.
