It is in exceptional mechanical condition, as well as being very straight and having very little presentation of rust. Details as follows: Original 1972 F-250 2WD pickup with the top-of-the-line Sport Custom trim package, as well as the factory Camper Special heavy-duty tow/haul package. The Ginger brown repaint was done over 20 years ago, and was of decent quality then. As you can see, overall it still looks good, although the paint is failing in spots (the worst areas are pictured for your inspection). It is a very straight truck with nice original Sport Custom fancy trim, the optional factory passenger side bed tool box, good glass throughout, heavy-duty rear bumper, nice original front bumper, nice grilles, all emblems, etc. A very good-looking truck, especially for its’ age. The engine is the factory 390 4v V8, rebuilt by the previous owner approximately 10k miles ago to 428 cubic inches with Ford factory crank and rods. The previous owner was a life-long career automotive machinist, and built the engine to haul his camper and pull his boat. It runs like a new engine, and maintains 45-50 pounds of oil pressure at operating temperature. It features an RV cam, lifters and springs, and rebuilt cylinder heads including valve stem seals. The transmission was also serviced; and shifts very well. The rear end is a Dana 60 with 3.54 gears; an ideal balance of power for pulling, and fuel economy. It now has fresh tune-up parts, fluids, and filters just done. The truck runs very well, and has tons of power. The truck drives beautifully, and tracks straight down the road straight, and steers with one finger (if you wish}. It brakes well and straight. Tires have about half their life left in them. The truck is a real pleasure to drive. Your wife or girlfriend can drive this one, gentlemen! The underside of the truck has only surface rust; it was always parked under a canopy and properly maintained. The floors, rockers, frame, cab mounts, cab corners, etc. are exceptional; no holes showing. No apparent rust in the bed floor either, although there are some small purposed drilled ¼” holes from a surface mount gooseneck hitch (holes pictured). Minor bubbles and cracks in the old repaint; nothing major (the worst areas are pictured for your inspection). The tailgate has one small area where the paint has failed and rust is showing, but not rusted through (pictured). The hood has one small dent, and I think that's the only dent on the entire truck... very straight. The windows roll up and down properly, and the glass is good throughout. The rear slider window seals are worn. The interior features original carpet still in decent condition, nice original dash and gauges, auxiliary oil pressure gauge, working lights, turn signals wipers, etc. The seat has been professionally reupholstered at some time in the past; it still looks and feels nice. The door panels are original and decent, with added speakers. Non-original radio. The headliner is intact, with some of the vinyl missing from the backing. Overall, a better than good “survivor”-quality interior. While not restored or perfect, this is a great original classic Ford Sport Custom Camper Special, the high-line truck of its’ day. It is a truck you can climb in and enjoy exactly as-is, or restore as a high-dollar appreciating classic. Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for export, inspection, etc. While every effort has been made to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible, it is in fact a 44-year-old classic car, and therefore being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. Please be ready to make payment in full within 3 days of auction’s end via deposit into my Bank of America account, or bank wire transfer. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I own a classic car restoration shop and can recommend a reliable and affordable broker who I have used many times... ultimately the choice must be yours alone. Feel free to call me directly at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have.
