Purchased new December 9, 1964 from Hull Dobbs Ford in Winston Salem N.C., the original owners manual is still with truck and was actually filled out with original purchaser information and salesmans name. I purchased from 2nd owner in 2014. It had been sitting a few years in an old lean to barn and one of the pics shows the truck covered in dirt as I found it before washing. I have rebuilt the steering column(3 on the tree), rebuilt the transmission, replaced the stock non rebuildable 2 Barrell carb with aluminum intake and correct for year 4 barrell. Installed Electronic ignition conversion. New Manifold back dual exhaust with "flow master" style Thrush mufflers and it sounds great. Brake system completely replaced from pedal pad, master cylinder, brake lines and all new shoes and hardware. New radiator. Has typical rust- radiator support is rusty but I have rust free west coast support to replace it with. Bed floor has rust at rear seam and I have another floor from a 65 included to use for repair. Tailgate is rusty and replacements are available. Easy truck to restore, great truck to drive as is with real patina and a highly desirable color combination. Drives and rides great. If you are bidding, remember this is a mostly original nearly 52 year old truck-if you expect a new truck then go buy a new truck.If you want a super presentable old truck to knock around on and/ or restore than this truck may be for you. It sounds great and is a conversation starter whenever out and about. Really getting hard to find these first year Twin I beam trucks in this condition.
