Vehicle Detail

I am offering for sale in this Ebay listing, an Oldsmobile Jet Black, 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham with an Olds Rocket 350, 4bbl engine. My father recently passed away and I am offering this car for sale on Ebay at the request of and on behalf of my mother. This car has a clear Kentucky State Title with no leins of any nature. Thanks for your interest in this car and I ask that you please take the time to read EVERY WORD of this listing description "BEFORE" bidding on or buying this car. This is a REALLY, RARE AND SPECIAL CAR. My parents purchased this car brand new from the showroom and have cherished and owned it ever since. This car is a GARAGE KEPT, 40 year old CLASSIC CAR! This car has only 38K.... ORIGINAL miles on it. This car is 99.99% primarily a ONE DRIVER car, driven primarily by my mother. Very rarely and very occasionally my father would drive the car. My mother exclusively drove the car 99.99% of the time. The car has an Oldsmobile 350 engine in it. I've always been told that the engine in this car is a really significant, and a rare and special engine. Since my parents purchased the car brand new out of the showroom in 1976 I've always been told it's a high performance V-8 "OLDSMOBILE ROCKET 350 with a 400 Turbo Racing Transmission and a limited slip rear end". I don't know how to verify that the engine is or is not a "Rocket" 350 and whether or not the transmission is a "400 Turbo Racing Transmission. I don't know the difference between a Rocket 350 and/or a Regular 350, or the difference from one transmission to the next. It IS definitely for sure a 350c.u. Oldsmobile engine with a 3 speed automatic transmission and is rear wheel drive. The car is definitely a powerful and "Bad Ass" fast 1977 Cutlass. Although this car is very powerful and very fast it was NEVER raced or "hot rodded" or ran hard in any way. My mother babied this car and drove it like a little ole lady, literally. This car was purchased brand new in late 1976 by my parents. The car was spec'd and specially ordered car by the Tinsley Oldsmobile dealership of Elizabethtown, KY. My uncle Buddy Wright was an employee of Tinsley Olds and sold the car to my parents. The car has been garage kept since it was new. My dad always drove a truck and this "family car" served as my "MOM'S CAR" to haul the kids around for 7 years, from 1977 until 1984. In 1984 my Mom got a new Pontiac Grand Am and this Cutlass was then stored and kept in the garage covered up, where it's been ever since. My father loved this car and was always really "protective" of this car. The car has very rarely ever been driven since 1984, sometimes only once or twice per year in local parades and/or occasionally to exercise and lubricate the mechanical aspects of the car. It has mostly sat in the garage covered up since 1984. I start the car once every week or two and let it idle for a few minutes. During this time I always run it through all of the gears and exercise the transmission and brakes but typically do not get it out of the garage or drive it off of the drive way. The fuel tank has always been kept FULL of gasoline and treated with "Stabilizer" and the oil and filter changed appropriately in order to keep fresh clean oil in the engine. The car has NEVER been wrecked, flooded, fire damaged or restored... and is virtually ALL ORIGINAL! In 1977, when the car was still brand new, a lady bumped into it while pulling into a parking space in the church parking lot and bent and scratched the driver's side rear fender in the small area between the driver's door and the rear left wheel. This dent and scratches were immediately repaired by a local State Farm Insurance Approved auto body repair shop. Otherwise, the car is, and has remained, damage free and original ever since. The paint is original. The original black leather quarter top is original and in excellent condition. The interior is all original and in excellent condition. All of the mechanical components of the car are all original and in excellent condition. This car has never had a mechanical failure or repair. EACH AND EVERY DRIVE TRAIN AND MECHANICAL COMPONENTS OF THIS CAR ARE ALL FACTORY ORIGINAL. To my knowledge this car has never had any of the mechanical components changed or repaired or replaced, not even brakes or shocks. The (rare) Oldsmobile Rally Wheels, center caps and beauty rings are all original and in perfect shape. The ONLY 3 things I know of that are NOT factory original to the car are the 4 new tires, the battery, and the exhaust pipes. The battery is new in the Spring of 2016. The 4 tires are brand new in summer of 2016 and have literally less than 10 miles on them. The spare tire in the trunk is one of the original Firestone tires that came on the car in 1976. I decided to keep one of the originals and moved it to the trunk as a spare when I had 4 brand new tires put on the car in June of 2016. The original jack and lug wrench are in place and in perfect condition. In or around 1980 while the car was still relatively new, my father had dual exhaust put on the car in place of the factory single exhaust because he liked the sound of dual exhausts. He did this for every vehicle he purchased. This car sounds "REALLY GOOD" with the high performance V-8 engine and the dual pipes. Other than the 4 new tires, the new battery, and dual exhaust, the car is all factory original inside and out, top to bottom, bumper to bumper and has never been altered in any other way from the factory. The car still has the factory original front floor mats. The car starts, runs and idles with no smoke at start up. The air conditioner is all original and the compressor still kicks on, but, it does need a freon recharge. The air conditioner currently does NOT blow cold air. The heater works perfectly. The 3 speed Turbo Transmission is solid and tight and shifts smoothly in all gears forward and reverse. The rear end is tight and problem free with absolutely no play or slack. The steering and front end components are tight and solid and ALL ORIGINAL and have no play or slack. All of the door, hood and trunk hindges and springs are solid and work perfectly and have no play or slack. What I know for sure that is "wrong" with the car. The automatic up and down electronic radio/stereo antenna is stuck "down" inside the front right fender and needs some repair to get it to go up and down again and working properly again by someone who has some mechanical repair ability and the knowledge in order to fix it. The air conditioner needs freon. The little plastic trim inserts need replaced where the rear bumper curves around and meets each side of the rear fenders. The windshield washer fluid won't spray; Not sure why. The passenger door has a strap that came off and needs to be put back on. The strap and screws are in the car and complete and simply need to be re-installed by someone who knows how to do that. That's all I know that is less than perfect with the car. The car has ABSOLUTELY NO fluid/gasket leaks of any nature. The car has been garage kept and sitting idle for 32 years. I would assume that ALL of the belts and hoses and ALL of fluids should be changed before the car is safe for operation. Personally, I wouldn't drive it any distance in excess of 1 mile until changing and replacing all of the fluids, belts and hoses. I am aware of no rusted areas on the car. It's rock sound and rock solid inside and out, up and down, top to bottom and end to end. The dash is not cracked. The seats and upholstery still looks great. The carpet is still great. The gauges and lights still work. The car has all original glass, lights, bulbs and lenses. There is no weather damage to the car in any way. The paint is still shiny and has no oxidation or rust. The door and window seals and gaskets are all tight. The car comes with the original keys and paperwork. This IS a great car in great ORIGINAL condition with very few, very minor details needing very little attention to make it nearly P-E-R-F-E-C-T for you to enjoy and cruise around in on those warm summer evening and show off! You WILL get double takes, smiles and thumbs up! This car is 40 year old and is NOT completely "FLAWLESSLY" perfect, but pretty close. The areas that are not perfect are easily and cheaply correctable for someone with a little time and skill. For somebody with some basic restoration skills and a little time and a few dollars, this CLASSIC 2 door MUSCLE CAR could become a real head turner and worthy of a Barret-Jackson's showing. This is a VERY, VERY, VERY EASY "restore to perfect" project. It's all there! It pretty much all works! It looks GREAT! It just needs truly, very, very, very, teeny, tiny, little TLC, from somebody with the time and skills. As it is BARGAIN PRICED for this sale on Ebay, this is a project car that could VERY, VERY, VERY.... EASILY DOUBLE or TRIPLE the value of your investment immediatlely. This car is the most desirable color of all Cutlasses ever produced, Factory labeled "OLDSMOBILE JET BLACK". This car has the desirable high performance engine, transmission and rear end and that JET BLACK paint job. This car has the high end "BROUGHAM" interior. ALL UNBELIEVABLE for a 40 year old car! This car has exceptionally low mileage and exceptionally HIGH PERFORMANCE and luxury. This car has the original, rare and hard to find rally wheels in virtually perfect condition. This car is all there. This car is virtually ALL ORIGINAL. This car is for YOU! I feel the asking price is very fair and bargain priced for the current status and rarity and quality of this special car. My mother does not NEED to sell this car and I will NOT sell it for her for less than the FAIR market value of the car in it's current condition, as it is priced for this listing on Ebay. This car is a family heirloom. If it sells fine. If it does not sell, fine. This is NOT a "Best Offer" listing. PLEASE DON'T send offers of less than the prices of this current AUCTION / BUY IT NOW listing on Ebay. ACCEPTANCE / SHIPPING / PICK UP / DELIVERY of the car is 100% the responsibility of the BUYER. I will NOT deliver the car, or be responsible for delivery, packaging, or shipping in any way. The buyer of the car MUST arrange for delivery, pick up or shipping of the car from the point of sale in Magnolia, KY, 42757. I will put the car out of the garage and onto the driveway for you, from that point shipping and delivery of the car is the responsibility of the BUYER. I will NOT load the car, tow the car, drive the car, or ship the car. I don't feel that the car is safely road worthy until the belts, hoses and fluids have been changed. The car has been basically garaged and parked idled for about 32 years. THE CAR STARTS AND DRIVES PERFECTLY AND IS DRIVABLE, BUT, IF YOU PURCHASE THIS CAR YOU WILL NEED TO HAUL IT HOME AND REPLACE ALL OF THE FLUIDS, BELTS AND HOSES BEFORE IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE OPEN ROAD SAFELY. THIS CAR HAS BEEN GARAGED AND COVERED AND UNDRIVEN AND IDLED FOR ABOUT 32 YEARS! INSPECTION of the car:: The car is available for inspection by appointment ONLY. I will make the car available for inspection/ test driving by appointment only on Sunday Evening's only. The car is located in Magnolia, KY, 42757. I will allow only MATURE / ADULT drivers to test drive the car. I will NOT tolerate any "hot rodding", jack rabbit starts or stops, burnouts or high speeds at all. The car has been idle for 32 years. If you test drive it you will drive it very softly and for only a very short distance of a mile or two, observing all traffic laws and driving it in a safe, soft, mature, adult, and responsible manner simply to verify the smoothe operation of the transmission and other mechanical components of the car NOT to test the power of the car! You pay for the car, you get the keys. After you purchase and pay for it you can drive it however you like.
