I purchased this vehicle on ebay and took delivery of it last saturday through a auto transport service. I paid $7000 for the vehicle and $500 for auto transport fee. This description of the vehicle was not accurate and its not the car that I was looking for. The seller agreed to have me relist the car, and compensate me for the difference that it sells for. Richard is into this vehicle for over $11,000 including over $7000 in recent mechanical repairs. Now, I will give a full and thorough break down of all the positives and negatives of this car. I have been in the automotive industry for 16 years and will give clear and detailed description of this car. Mechanical: Engine: previous owner stated that the cylinderhead was rebuilt and new piston rings and bearings were installed at the same time. The reason for this repair was due to overheating caused by lose of coolant. Previous owner stated that only the cylinderhead gasket was needed but they decided to do a complete job since it was apart. Richard stated that this job was in excess of $4000. It is clear that the cylinderhead and associated gaskets had been worked on very recently. The engine starts right up without hesitation and runs nicely. Power feels good for a 300TD. Engine shuts off immediately every time. No oil drips on the ground where I parked it. Transmission: Transmission shifts well in every gear on first start or when warm. I took pictures of the transmission. I can say with 100% confidence that the transmission was rebuilt at some point. Brakes: Previous owner had recent brake work done. Car brakes as it should. Suspension: The hydraulic suspension system is not function at this time and it was not disclosed when I purchased the car. The rear end of the car sags and the car is bouncy over speed bumps. At the minimum it will need accumulators. I have not looked further into this issue so prepare for worse case. Cooling system: cooling looks newer and no leaks found at this time. Tires: All 4 tires were recently replaced. They are not premium brand tires and one tire has a small cut on the side wall. -Minor fluid seepage at rear differential -No fluid drips noticed on the ground while its parked here. Cosmetics: Body and Paint: Vehicle was repainted and it was not a high quality job. This was my biggest turn off and I would not had bought this car had I known this(I have to have original paint even if its faded unless its done to a very high standard). The car looks better in the pictures than in person. I would call the paint job a 20 footer. The trims were not removed when it was painted and you can see where the trims were masked. Thin spots in the paint can be noticed under certain light conditions. There are dings and shallow dents on the body that can we seen at certain angles and light conditions. Interior: Interior presents well. Driver's seat is sagging on the side next to the door. Passenger seat and rear bench seats were dyed at some point..not a great job but looks good. There are a few minor cracked on the dash on the driver's side under the windshield. Center console shows deformation as can be seen in the picture. Radio works Carpet looks clean. I am allergic to pets and I didn't feel itchy or sneeze while I was inside the car and it looks to be pet free. It seats 7. A/C and Heating: A/C is cold and heater is warm. Door lock system: Vacuum door lock system is NOT functional. This was not disclosed when I bought it. It appears the entire system is disabled. A electrical power door lock was installed on the driver's side by a previous owner and its operated by a keyless entry remote. - All the windows goes up and down. I didn't test the sunroof....its a mechanical sunroof and should work but I dont have good luck with 30 year old sunroofs so I am not going to touch it.
