Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my '86 K10 Chevrolet Silverado. It is what I call a "well kept" truck. It is a southern, rust free example of what we wished all these trucks looked like after 30 years. But we all know that usually without a full restoration, they rarely ever look like this one. The only evidence of any paintwork on the truck is the top of the hood and the top of the cab done by a PO probably due to clear coat peeling. This truck was born with a 305 but the PO installed the more powerful GM 350 with a mild cam. It has the true duals with incynerator mufflers that are not loud, but not quiet. They have a perfect rumble that sounds good! The odometer shows 49K miles, but I would probably say it was 149K. The motor runs great and the tranny shifts good. The Warn lock outs turn easy and the transfer case shifts with ease (even the transfer case light still works). Like I said, a "well kept" truck. This truck came with every available option in '86 including the clock (which still keeps perfect time) and the cargo light (that still works like it should). All gauges work like they should with the exception of the oil pressure, I just installed a new NOS gauge, but it appears it will need a pressure switch as well ($15 part). I don't think the PO connected the cruise control when he installed the 350 engine. I recently installed a new cruise control switch due to the lettering fading on the old one and it does power up the cruise servo when placed in the "ON" position. Headlight, signal lights, tail lights and markers lights work as they should (again,,,a "well Kept" truck). The seat (original, I believe) has faded a little but has zero tears and the dash has zero cracks. Heat blows hot, AC blows cold (AC condenser recently replaced and serviced). Ok, last time, "A Well Kept Truck!". No, this is not a freshly painted and completely restored K10, there are scratches, chips and pecks in the paint and not every single item works as it did in 1986, but if you are looking for a highly sought after collectible K10 and like me you are afraid of the "lipstick on a pig" syndrome, then this truck won't disappoint you. This is a good looking, straight sheet metal, rust free (which is rare in unrestored condition), good driving, good stopping, ready to go wherever mostly unmolested survivor. This K10 Silverado does have a 2" suspension lift to accomodate the 33" tires on the Mickey Thompson Wheels. In my opinion, it has the Perfect Stance! Some of the pics may make the truck look black. It is Midnight Blue. It even still has it's factory optioned rear sliding back glass and owner/service manuals from 1986. This truck is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it no longer becomes available for sale. If you have less than 10 feedbacks, contact me before you bid. If you have Zero (0) feedback, you need to definitely contact me before you bid as I will cancel your bid otherwise. Make sure you have your funds available BEFORE you bid. I REQUIRE a $500 deposit via PayPal immediately after auction's end and the remaining amount must be paid within 72 hours via wire transfer, cashier's check or cash in hand. All funds must clear before I will release the vehicle. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping arrangements and associated costs. I would hop in a take off anywhere in this truck but as with any 30 year old unrestored vehicle, there is NO WARRANTY associated neither expressed nor implied with this truck. These K10 Silverado's have become a highly sought after collectible classic and prices seem to be increasing daily so I have set a fair reserve on this one accordingly. If you want to know what my reserve is, you must first contact me (ask and I will give you my cell #) and then if you make a serious offer explaining when/how you are prepared to pay and if you are close enough to the reserve I will let you know what it is. I welcome any and all questions concerning this Classic Silverado K10 as well as inspections (at your expense of course). Thanks for looking at this "WELL KEPT" Silverado (had to get one more in,,,,,lol) and GOOD LUCK BIDDING!
