Vehicle Detail
This is a 1985 Honda V65 Magna with 19,650 miles on it. It is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but that is also why I am starting the auction at $100 with no reserve. It would make a perfect project for someone, because of course when you are done, you have a bike that definitely has a seriously strong motor, among other things. Or a great parts bike. And it is almost 100% stock, if you wanted to restore it. I believe almost everything but the seat is original(well, not the tires either). I just have too many other projects. The good; 1. This bike has a clean Maryland title. so you don't have to deal with that problem. 2. The tank is in great shape, with just a small dent in the bottom right front. It's hard to see unless you are looking for it. The last picture shows it pretty clearly. The tank also has some scratches on the top left that might be able to be "buffed out". Again these are pretty minor(see next to last picture). It also has some rust in it, but not too much, because it didn't keep this bike from being ridden a couple of months ago. I can advise you on how to make this tank 100% rust free if you like. Only because I've been in the M/C industry for a very long time, not because I am a know-it-all. 3. The brake rotors on this bike are in phenomenal shape. Apparently this bike has a lot of highway miles on it. Which is a wonderful thing because I am sure these rotors cost a fortune! 4. The tires are fine, even though they are not the same brand. No dry rot and plenty of tread left. 5. The switches all work fine. The ignition switch, gas cap, helmet lock all use the same key. Which is the original one..6. Oh and...you get a nice V65 Magna motor and transmission with less than 20,000 miles on it in that clean titled frame! I am very confident that the engine and transmission on this bike are perfectly fine, because I know the previous owner. If I had any doubts, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. The bad; 1.The tags were current when I bought it a couple of months ago, but it does not run now. It was last being ridden this past fall, so I'm sure the carbs will need to be cleaned. This is not a job for the faint of heart, but once they are done properly, these bikes are beasts! 2. It also needs a new battery. If you turn the key on, the dash lights come on, but the fuel pump will barely turn over and the starter will not. 3. It needs fork seals. And bushings. The forks have some(very) small pits that can probably be smoothed out, but I believe they are high enough anyway to not contact the seals. 4. It needs handlebars because they are bent. 5. The tail section does not quite line up with the rear tire. I'm not really sure why. 6. That is not the original seat. It is a Saddleman's, in perfect condition. Whether that is good or bad is up to you, I suppose. I tried to give you a lot of info with my pictures, regarding this and all of the cosmetic flaws. I think there is a bunch of potential here. But that is not really for me to decide. Please ask any questions about anything. Thanks for looking.
