Vehicle Detail
I have an older convertible that due to health, age and a distressed wallet, i'm unable to take to the finish line, I have been working on it for about three years now, there's not much that hasn't been rebuilt or replaced, it runs, drives, shifts, and stops, it's tagged/insured/registered, has maybe 45 miles on it since tagged, the motor runs great, the exhaust has a great tone to it, the reground camshaft gives it a little rumble, just a little over stock grind, the motor still has the EOS and oil since fired, a lot of money and time have been invested. At almost 70 and in failing health I just can't get out and work on it like I used to, I really don't have the storage to protect it from the elements and thieves I have pictures of building this car from day one, happy to send what i have and/or take any pictures requested and answer any questions, my cell number is 470-328-2243 and email is tcellguru@aol.com Here are the details. This WAS ! My dream car, but like dreams, wives, girlfriends and beer, they all come and go. Lesson learned? careful what Ya dream for, This car hates Me, and I hate it. fresh original rebuilt Poly 318 motor bored .030 balanced rotating assembly crank, rods, bearings, pistons, rings, wrist pins, harmonic balancer, including the flywheel and clutch New pistons/rings/bearingscylinder heads redone New Melling oil pump Neoprene rear main seal instead of rope New reground Camcrafters camshaft Converted to spin on oil filter New set of Melling solid lifters New Cloyes true roller triple keyed timing chain New Flowcooler high flow performance water pump Powder coated silver Edelbrock P-600 3 X 2 aluminum intake New thermostat New radiator hose This car was not originally air conditioned, but i planned on adding it, so entire motors front accessory drive system is from a poly 318 1966 Plymouth factory AC car, so the RV2 compressor and pulley system are already mounted for AC, it will need the inside evaporator/controller, the dryer, and the AC hoses. All front pulleys (except the PS pump pulley), fan, radiator support, battery tray, motor mount heat shields and various other parts have been powder coated black Three NEW, not rebuilt, 2 barrel Holley 94's Carb's, center is an Edelbrock with idle circuit and choke, ends are Fuel Force with idle circuits blocked, "dumpers".I have a new set of the externally adjustable main jets that allow jetting without having to open the carb, haven't installed them yet. New 3 X 2 progressive carburetor linkage, not installed yet.Have the new banjo carb fittings for when all the carbs are fueled, i'm running block off plates under the outer carbs while the motor gets broken in and the center carb is fine tuned, it runs good and idles fine, just haven't spent a lot of time fiddling with the tune. New and hard to find aftermarket finned aluminum tall valve covers New Crane Fireball CD ignition with matching LX-92 coil, I mounted the CD box under the battery tray to conceal it to keep the old skool hot rod theme of the car. New battery New starterThe factory ammeter was bypassed and taken out of the electrical circuit and a fusible link install, also has a fusible link from the alternator to the battery New turn signal switch with four way flashersNew battery cables New speedometer cable New electronic voltage regulator new starter relay, New cut to fit 8MM spark plug wires Rare set of Poly 318 shorty tube headers, had a machine shop true the flanges to prevent gasket leaks and blowout New fuel pump New fuel regulator, Aftermarket aluminum radiator New dual master cylinder New Wilwood adjustable brake proportioning valve new brake lines on entire car 1966 Plymouth Fury 8 3/4 rear end installed, it was a drop in swap, no more tapered axles and it now has better brakes Rebuilt rear brakes, New shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders New universal joint in the drive shaft New front disk brake conversion, new 12" cross drilled and vented rotors, new Dodge Calipers, new ceramic pads, new rubber brake lines Rebuilt the entire front suspension New upper and lower ball joints New upper and lower control arm bushings New outer tie rod endsNew idler arm bushing New gas tank New gas tank sending unit NOS Fuel gauge New ballast resistor New spark plugs New aftermarket water temp gauge New aftermarket oil pressure guage Old skool chrome Dixco tachometer mounted on the floor New Hurst three speed floor shifter New fender skirts with forward look emblems Four perfect and polished headlight trim rings Set of stainless "mascara" for headlight covers including the two NOS side spears Set of custom side view mirrors New white convertible top to install one spot of rust on the DS headlight mount, i assume the drivers fender was replaced at some point New ACC medium blue molded carpet to install New top hydraulic pumpNew top lift cylinders New top hydraulic hoses Convertible top works fine The entire floorboard has new Hushmat sound deadner installed, have a few extra sheets for the doors when the door panels are installed All glass good New set of 15 inch chrome five spoke Astro Supreme rims Four new Toyo 225-75-15 tires, skinny whites New gas tank, New gas tank sending unitNew oil pressure and temp sending units NOS dash speaker grillNew dash speaker New dual rear antennas New chrome Patriot side exhaust system New 3 inch exhaust header pipes, New shocks front and rear New heater hoses and stainless clamps All exterior stainless trim professionally redone/polishedNew set of headlight stainless " half moon eye lids" Perfect grill, just polished NOS steering wheel Four new headlight bulbsnew horn relayNew set of horns set of glass blue dots for tail light lensesExtra set of tail light lenses New power steering pressure and return hoses Rebuilt power steering pump 1961 Georgia license plate repainted and installedDash has been repainted the original medium blueThe glove box is not installedFront bumper has been re-platedThe gold anodized grill emblem and front fender emblems have been stripped and re-anodized.I have the front bumper over rider/grill protector, it's straight and rust free, but not installedI have the Fury emblems for the front fender sides, just haven't installed them yetI'm only running the center carb right now till fully broken in.I have all he interior pieces, but out of the car, the rear seat has been done in the original pattern. Body was DA'd and primed, my painter dragged his feet so long I had to put a temporary thin flat black coat of paint on it to preserve it, the firewall was taken to bare metal, primed and painted, there is no rust on the firewall, cowl, quarter panels (upper or lower) around he windows, floor board front and back, No matter what the pictures look like, the car is rust free and arrow straight. The car has power steeringheater and fan workwindshield wipers workhorns workBrake lights, parking lights, headlights, and turn signals as well as the 4 way flashers work..The dash lights and radio don't work, don't know why, i'm to old and to fat to lay under the dash and figure it out A great deal for someone younger that has the time, ability and a place to work on it and finish it, all of which I am out of. The body has never been hit and is straight and rust free but i think the drivers front fender has been replaced, the inner fenders/firewall/trunk/door jams have been repainted the original Robin's Egg Blue, the top pump sprang a leak and ruined some of the paint in the trunk, i have the paint, primer,DA sanding discs to do the body, this is the original non metallic "baby blue" not a flashy metal flake or candy/pearl, but a seldom seen old school color, even on older cars, a Baby Blue 60's convertible, if that don't get your car juices flowing, just move along cause this ain't for You. A no rust 60's convertible, hard to find them! I guarantee You there won't be another one of these pulling up next to You at a traffic light.
