Vehicle Detail

Nice example of a classic Triumph. Restored in 1995 under the watchful eye of legendary Triumph specialist, Gary "Shakey" Kelley. The bike was ridden about 2000 miles after the restoration, so it has the usual paint chips, oil seeps, and patina associated with a bike that is ridden. The restoration parts were replaced as accurately as possible at the time. The bike is very correct and scored an honorable mention at Daytona Speedway Concours in 1995...(beat by a beautiful MV Augusta) in the competition category. The TR6-C was an American only model highly sought after by collectors. The high pipes are original Triumph along with the H-pipe, clamps, and mufflers....not reproductions. Only the barbecue grill was reproduced in New Zealand as the originals were impossible to find at the time. The original speedometer was replaced at just over 3000 miles. The one currently installed shows 18K and the milage is not correct. The original will be included with the sale, but needs rebuilt. All the frame was repainted and bolts cad plated. The wheels were not restored. The K70 Dunlop tires are correct, but have weathering in the sidewalls. The seat is original with the exception of the piping being replaced. The bike has been started and ridden a few times a year, in the past 21 years, so the carb stays clean. The engine was rebuilt at the time of restoration from the crank up....even the sludge trap inside the crank journal. Like most British bikes from that era, the engine doesn't sound as quiet as a modern bike....it's part of the experience. I encourage you to call me on the phone to get all the details on the bike before you bid.
