Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1957 Ford Del Reo Ranch Wagon that my friend’s mom bought new. We have the original bill of sale, owners manual and sales brochure, service manuals and other documents from new. it is equipped with the 292 CID. 4V engine with an auto trans. The engine was replaced in the 70s by Sears. In the mid to late 80s it received a armature restoration with a repaint in the original silver moca over colonial white recromed bumpers, recovered seats, carpets and door panels. This car stills shows very well. The engine runs great with a new carb, fuel pump and flushed fuel tank. The trans shifts very positively. Front brakes are new. The idler arm has some play leading to some pull to the right. The oil pane drips (have not tried to snug up the bolts) there are some small rust holes on driver side floor shone in photos covered with a plate. The spot light and turbine hub caps where ordered when new. The car also comes with stock hub caps, spare windshield with trim and misc. bits of side trim. The engine has good oil pressure 15 -20 psi. at idle but the wire for the sending unit is missing. dash lights are out and wiper cable is frozen. Minor things to do on weekends. Radiator and water pump done in last 500 miles. This car has spent the last 59 years in Southern California The reserve is set at an reasonable price. For more info or photos please call 714-345-3765 Rich for an additional $ 200.00 you can have the 14x6 wheels with trim rings and hub caps. From a 78 Ranchero A $500.00 non refundable deposit is due at close of auction. Balance by wire transfer or cash only. Below is an note from my friend. Shipping is buyers responsibility but we will help if we can. sold as is where is with no warranty. car is described to the best of our ability inspections are welcomelooks like I lost the photo of drivers floor will add it soon Patty Wilson Peirce bought it new in LA in 1957. She loved to say “I drove it off of the show room floor.” She was 29 years old. Knowing my mom, I would imagine she paid cash. She brought it with her when she moved to OC in 1961. The wagon hauled kids all over California, Tijuana, Arizona and everywhere in between. She drove it daily until about 1973 when it became the primary car of my brother. He drove it to and from Huntington Beach as a surf wagon until about 1978. Both my brother and I earned to drive with this car. At this point it became our family’s secondary car. My father, Harvey Peirce restored it in the early 1980’s. From about 1990 until today, it has been driven occasionally to keep it going. I inherited it upon my mother’s passing in May of 2014. It was one of her prized possessions. Although it is difficult to let it go, I cannot provide the TLC required to do it justice.
