Vehicle Detail
1962 Impala Convertible Up for auction is a 1962 Impala Convertible The car has factory power steering and power brakes. It has a rare accessory vacuum controlled trunk release and accessory hood lock which is under the column. It has the original number matching 283 and 2 speed powerglide transmission. The car has original Super Sport hubcaps, trim, emblems, cove moldings, bucket seats, etc. I am not sure if it is an original SS car or not. This is a very original car with no reproduction parts. It has it original bumpers, trim, glass, etc. This is a driver quality car and is far from perfect. If you are looking for a $50k show car, this is not it. The 283 runs great. It does not knock, tick, smoke, or do anything out of the ordinary, I was told by the previous owner that the motor and tranny were rebuilt 5000 miles ago, but I have no documentation. The transmission shifts great and works just as it should. The car has had the floors replaced with correct reproduction pans. There is some rust in the inner rockers. The trunk floor and frame are solid. The doors open and close nice and the windows roll up and down good. The braking st system is all new. New master cylinder, booster, hoses, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders etc. The paint is driver quality and appears to be older. It has has some chips and scratches that have been touched up. There is blistering in the hood corners and some cracked filler on the passenger side quarter. It shines good and is presentable. The interior is clean. Some of it appears to be original. The car has working headlights, taillights, blinkers, wipers, heat, turn signal indicators. The speedo and gas gauge are not working. The top fits good and is easy to latch. It has one small rip which can be seen in the photos. It goes up and down, its a little slow but works. The zipper for the rear window is no good and is wire tired to stay in place. I have many high end restored 59-64s, so when describing this car I am comparing it to them. I have perfect feedback on ebay and want to keep it that way. This car steers smooth, stops nice, and really runs and drives good. It a great car to drive and enjoy, and is half the price of a really nice one! I encourage any interested buyer to come see the car in person. Please take your time to look through the photos and read the ad before calling. Serious buyers can contact me at 314-393-0565. I would prefer a cash deal, but I may possibly consider a partial trades for other high end classics or late model exotic. Email me with what you have to trade. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I may consider a Class A Diesel motor home or toterhome setup on trade. I have been selling on Ebay for 15 years and have sold many classic cars and trucks with 100% positive feedback. I am very picky with my cars. I know what I am looking at and know how to accurately describe them. I have many happy buyers all around the world, and can provide references if needed. Please give time for high res pics to load.
