Well I'm sure no expert on Cadillac's, but a friend of mine died 5 years ago, and he had big plans to restore this 1961 4 door hardtop someday.He owned it for many years, and was the second owner. It's mine now and I am selling it.This is what I know, and as honestly as I know it...The car has sat idle in a car-port for the last 5 years or so. (it was running and driving fine, when it was parked away into storage).It's dirty from sitting, and just how I received it. The car is all original and very un-molested. Before he stored it, he put an automotive rust inhibitor on it. That's why it is black and so ugly. Underneath Is the original lavender/rose color.The brakes are low from sitting, but with some fresh fuel and a new battery it would probably start right up?It has all the usual goodies, and even a few extras such as... dimmer eye, power- steering, air-conditioning, power seats, fender skirts, wide witewalls, cruise-controll, etc. It's sure not perfect, and somewhat of a project car, but it would make a neat daily driver as it is, or perhaps be a candidate for restoration? I have tried to take good pictures so you can see its overall condition. (the trunk-floors-engine compartment etc. are excellent). It's a Colorado car, and that's always a plus.(dry climate). This Cadillac is 55 years old and being sold as-is. My opening bid is $1,500 with no reserve.(it needs a new home and it can't stay here). I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed in any way. Now... all this having been said... I can't imagine finding a more original and un-molested 1961 Cadillac like this, for the price. I only want the buyer to be as excited as I was when it came my way.
