You are bidding on an absolutely beautiful and very rare 1978 Ford F150 XLT Ranger "Trailer Special" with the top-of-the-line Lariat trim package as well. This was the Cadillac of trucks; really nothing nicer on the road. This truck has only 66k original miles, runs and drives like a dream, and has no rust. No rust to be found, anywhere. The paint is the original and very pretty Medium Copper red/orange with White accents. It has minor touch-ups, chips, nicks, etc. but as you can see is very shiny, and very pretty. The truck is amazingly straight, with no noticeable dents or body damage to be found. The XLT Ranger "racetrack" side trim and fancy rear tail gate panel are in just about perfect condition, along with the grill and surround. Just a gorgeous truck. The wheels are original, restored to match the white accent trim, and have very good radial tires. The bumper features a heavy-duty receiver hitch and trailer wiring. The front chrome bumper is nice-looking and straight. The glass is all excellent, with nothing more than a minor chip to be found. Original mirrors, also in excellent condition, with no extra holes on the body. No rust at all in the bed, still in original paint, and the tail gate opens and shuts smoothly, as do the doors. Windows roll up and down smoothly. The interior is also in fantastic condition, and features new molded-to-fit reproduction carpet, new seat upholstery, and a new dash cap. The headliner, door panels, etc. are original and in very nice condition. All the electrical works, including lights, brake lights, turn signals, flashers, wipers, heater, etc. Dual fuel tanks, both are in working order. All the gauges work as well. Under the hood you will find a clean, original, and unmolested engine bay, complete as it came from the factory. The 400 cubic inch engine has power to spare, and has a fresh tune-up, including plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. The carburetor was cleaned and adjusted for maximum performance and smooth driving. The power brake booster and master cylinder have been replaced, and the brakes work just as they should. The power steering operates smoothly and is true power, one-finger steering... not power-assist like the earlier Fords had. The battery is newer, and the charging system works exactly as it should. The cooling system has been flushed, and fresh antifreeze added. This is a very special truck that you can climb into and just go. Hard to find them this nice, this sound, this low miles. I'm a Ford guy, have owned many, many F-series of this era, and this is the first Lariat-package truck I have found. Not a common truck by any measure. Add to that a nice color combination, and NO RUST, and you've got a keeper indeed.
