Vehicle Detail
I am listing this 1982 Porsche 911 SC for my sister-in-law who purchased the car nearly five years ago. When she told me she wanted an air-cooled 911, I spent several months looking for the right car. As a long-time owner of 911s, I wanted to make sure I found an original, rust-free car with no deferred maintenance. I found this car locally, and my sister-in-law transported it back to Iowa, where she has used it sparingly. The car has always been maintained properly through the years. During my sister-in-law’s ownership, the car has required only routine maintenance. Prior to her ownership, the car was extensively serviced at Flemington Porsche, with no expense spared in its maintenance and upkeep. The car has never had any rust and still retains its original Guards red factory paint. The paint is in remarkably good shape and still has a wonderful shine. This car has never been restored and is remarkably original and complete, showing only minimal wear. The engine and transmission are original and unmodified, except for Carrera chain tensioners and a pop-off valve, two common upgrades. The engine with its original CIS fuel injection runs very well, and the transmission shifts smoothly. According to my mechanic, neither has ever been out of the car. The exterior is as it left the factory, with only a few minor stone chips on the front bumper. The interior--like the exterior--remains untouched, including the seats, carpets, headliner and floormats. The only non-original item in the interior is the addition of a more modern radio and amplifier which were installed prior to my sister-in-law’s ownership. The overall condition of the interior is excellent apart from some loose stitching on the driver’s seat and a minor tear in the rear seat cushion. All original equipment and accessories are with the car, including owner’s and service manuals, jack and toolkit. The 911 currently has 70,526 original miles. This is a very pleasurable car to drive and a very nice example of the legendary SC. All switches, gauges and systems function properly and as designed, including the air conditioning. Whenever replacement parts were necessary, the car has received only original Porsche. This car has always been garaged and properly stored when not in use. Looking at this 911, it is evident that it has always been treated with the respect and care it deserves. I will be happy to put an interested buyer in touch with my sister-in-law and would welcome any inspections. The car is located outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
