For Sale, 1962 Mercury Meteor. Pretty rare car, a little longer than a Fairlane, but smaller than a Galaxie. Originally came with a 260 engine and a 2 speed fordomatic. It now has a strong running 200ci inline six off a 66 mustang (Pretty bulletproof engine with 7 main bearings! ) c4 3 speed transmission that shifts well. Front end has been gone through. Brakes have been gone over, new dual chamber master cylinder was installed ($75) along with new brake hardware. Car stops just like it should. The car was cut into for reasons unknown, so a piece of sheetmetal is bolted into the transmission hump, Since car is a three speed now, it has a cable driven b&m megashifter that does a good job. Seats have decent, clean upholstery. Needs carpet and headliner. Needs a door panel. Instrument panel has been upgraded to LED's. Currently trying to get the gauges to work, a new voltage regulator has been installed, and I may get them working this weekend. Exterior could use a paint job and bodywork, Has all chrome. Car is registered through 2016 (no insurance so $10 fee is due) Overall this is a sweet little cruiser that just needs the owners touch. its a nice example of early 60's space age styling
