1969 Camaro SS built at Los Angeles/Van Nuys Assembly Plant in September. VIN 124379L501652 The original car rolled off the assembly line with: · a 350 V8, 4 bolt Main with 300 HP · 4 Speed transmission · Exterior Paint was Glacier Blue · Interior was Dark Blue · Racing stripe was black · Front Power disc brakes · Drip rails · “SS” Hood There is no “x” code when assembled in Los Angeles/Van Nuys, Trim codes only come on Norwood, Ohio assembled cars. That being said, the SS Hood, the engine casting code 3970010, the Front Disc Brakes and 4 Speed Transmission all point this to as an authentic SS. The engine stamped code was machined off when the engine was rebuilt. The code suggests is was forged in January of 1968. There is no way to determine the trim type without the engine code or POP, but the evidence seems clear that this is an authentic SSThe car has about 10,000 miles on it since the restoration.
