Up for sale is a very clean, one owner 1973 Volvo 144E sedan. The car was bought new in 1973 in Watertown CT, and will be sold with the Original clear title from 1973! The car was garaged its entire life, very solid example of an early east coast Volvo. There is no rust underneath the car, the spare tire carriers and trunk are all solid. rockers and inner doors are all solid as well. the only spots on the car that are starting to bubble are right behind the passenger side rear fender, and underneath the driver side headlight. The car has an older repaint that is very presentable in the original color. interior is in excellent shape the carpet in the front / back is spotless and original floor mats. it also comes with an extra set of winter mats. The door panels are a beautiful red alligator vinyl , and the seats are a cloth red with vinyl backs. The seats front and rear have no rips or tears, the cloth is however slightly sun faded. headliner and sun visors are in good shape no sagging. all windows roll up and down. The dash has some cracks, instrument cluster and radio are all intact but do not work. The odometer reads 48, 311 and does not work, I can not confirm if this is the actually mileage. The car had sat since 2001, the last inspection sticker was from Dec. 2001. so I am sure the gear that runs the odometer broke when the car was moved again. Headlights and taillights do work, the tires still have good tread and seem to be originals! The Engine does run , starts right up but the idle is very sporadic and drops some oil when parked. It has new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The fuel pump has been replaced and the tank has been cleaned. The car does move under its own power and stops, the clutch engages smoothly, but it will need more to be road worthy. It is fuel injected so I am sure the injectors may need to be cleaned. The car comes with all the original owner manuals and accessories manual, and two sets of keys. This is a great collectable car that is very solid. I personally have never seen another one. I want the car to go to a good home, someone who knows Volvos should have no problem getting this beautiful car back on the road again. the car is being sold as is no warranties, the buyer will take care of transport or shipping. $500 deposit is required within 2 days of the auction closing.
