1963 Ford Fair-lane k-Code 289-Hi Pro 4-Speed Project. Ford only made a hand full of the 289 K_Codes, Maybe less than 200 total. I'm sure very few left. This is one of the . This was the car that started the K-Code 289. High perf 4-barrel solid lift cam $ special manifolds. Manual Transmissions only. and only available in in the fair-lane until the mustang came out. There is quite a few clones that came with the 260 and High Perf emblems were added. But those did not have a K for fifth digit in vin. It still has the original paint that is what is left. Some spots were to metal and prime was sprayed on. Hood and door,,no bodywork. All the quarters are original , floor-pans are original., Seats are all there all with seat tags. Need recovered. I do have both bumpers complete. need chrome. It's Mostly solid.always in Mississippi,no salt or harsh winter. It does have some small dents and dings I hope someone out there is looking for one of these. The fact that it is o rare, it needs to be restored correct as possible. rather than late model engine, big wheels and crazy paint As far as the running gear, It ha early 5-bolt block that was built by machine shop 10 years ago before I got the car. It was said to be built close to Hi Po specs, engine remained on a stand inside shop. I installed engine, It runs and sounds great, but has no ehaust.. engine and heads are dated early 1964, has place for oil filter in timing cover. Heads are not Hi Po, Do not have the recessed springs. It odes have the 1963 original Ho Po Manifolds, not aftermarket. I also have Hi Po Balance and dual point dist. I also have console. I am not trying to sell a number matching car but closer than most. But it is a true K car. I do know that someone could acquire a few more engine components and make a period correct car. Like I said, it sounds great 4-speed works well- Has new brakes, starter, fuel pump. Needs new gas tank. Please call me rather than e-mail, I am not around the computer.
