RELISTED because the prior high bidder said he had a family medical emergency and could not complete the purchase. I decided to wait until after the holidays to relist as I was traveling (as many people do) during the holidays. Up for auction (Again) at no reserve, is my beautiful 1971 BMW 2800CS (Blue). As you can see in the pictures the original leather interior is in exceptional condition and gets compliments wherever it goes. The car has a 4 speed manual transmission and manual Sunroof. The Blue 1971 2800CS is a working, running, stopping, project car. All electrical items work just fine (except for the A/C which is not installed on the car). The A/C fan works. The car is practically rust free which is very rare for this model and vintage BMW. The car was rust proofed by the original owner early in the car's life (Ziebart treated in 1976, receipt/warranty Card on hand). Car was originally Silver but repainted blue in the '80s. The red 1973 BMW 3.0CS parts car pictured is included in the sale. The parts car is a rolling car with no drive-train (no engine or driveshaft). Auction is for both, the running project car (Blue 2800CS) and the parts car (Red 3.0CS). BEFORE YOU BID PLEASE make sure that you have the resources, space, time, permission from your significant other, and the will to go through with the purchase. This time I am also including a buy it now for the no nonsense buyer. The buy it now price is over $1,000 under the high bid from last time. Things I have done to the car in the last 2 years: New Weber Carburetors ($750) New electric fuel pump Reconditioned/treated gas tank Re-built front suspension New Top strut mounts ($400) Converted to vented Discs (from 3.0CS) New Brakes: Rotors, Calipers, Braided Lines, Master Cylinder New clutch Slave cylinder New Gas tank sending unit ($200) New engine mounts, transmission mount and differential mount. Reconditioned Cylinder head included: Stamped EBERHART with ELGIN 284 Camshaft Front Spoiler Period correct beautiful BBS staggered 16 inch wheels 7" front with 205/55/16 and 8" rears with 225/50/16 ($1200) Included is a complete set of original wheels (the lightweight aluminum type with the center BMW hub cap) with brand new tires (195/70/14 BF Goodrich). Spare tire mounted on a fifth original wheel and has a brand new Good Year tire mounted. New Kenwood Radio with USB port (plays your music and charges your phone) Parts Car (1973 3.0 CS with no running gear) with a plethora of spare parts I am pretty sure there are additional thing I have done to the car that I can't remember right now. All of the spare parts I have go with it if you want them. Extensive Records and lots of receipts included. The GOOD: This is a rust free, very nice running car. Starts right up and the suspension and brakes have been completely refurbished. The interior is in fantastic condition with NO cracks on dash and beautiful original leather seats. The paint when polished/waxed still shines and looks fantastic from 15 feet away. The BAD: Has the front end damage pictured. The engine, even though dependable, is a bit tired and could use a refresh/rebuilt (new head is included). Needs cosmetic repair/restoration.
