1974 BMW Model 2002 with automatic Transmission A Clean and solid 1974- BMW 2002. Completely rust free. Has been garaged its whole life. An all Original California car purchased new at Ocean Motors in Santa Monica, Ca. 11/1974. Has matching numbers with all original body panels and parts. Has the original engine and automatic transmission. A rare and highly desirable internationally collectible BMW in a most desirable and very striking all orange original color paint with a matching black interior. The headliner is clean, with no tears. The ca runs perfect and is all original with nothing customized. An exceptional example of an original southern California car. The great visibility from the "glass bubble" cockpit really adds to the fun, and you can see everything really well. Growing up my children all drove the "pumpkin". The BMW 2002 was the high performance limited edition model (1972-74) of the 2002 model line which changed the automobile world forever with the introduction of an everyday compact 4 seater car with a measure of sportiness and sophistication, that along with BMW's legendary reputation for engineering and high quality construction, caught the attention of sport car enthusiasts the world over. This car is an absolute joy to drive. Being very light weight, it is extremely peppy it is a blast to be behind the wheel of. If you've owned a 2002 you already know why they make such great drivers. The dash is great, with an almost unheard of condition of no cracks, and no hardening. Headliner is excellent, with no tears or rips. This classic BMW has been in my family since it was purchased new in Santa Monica, CA in 1974. I have the original sales contract, maintenance logs, sales brochure and glove box manuals in their original plastic sleeve. Also comes with the small BMW tool kit that came with the vehicle. It has been garaged and is in great original shape. The engine and automatic transmission have been rebuilt and have few miles on them since the rebuild. The car has air conditioning but it needs to be recharged. The car comes with lots of extra parts. The engine currently has a weber carburetor. Included in the sale is an additional weber carb and the original Solex carburetor. I have an additional Solex carburetor that can be used as parts to rebuild the original. Also comes with the original air filter case. Lots of other parts including another dash instrument panel with an RPM gauge in case you want to switch to a manual transmission. I also have the original Blaupunkt stereo that came with the car when new. The car was repainted a few years ago in its original BMW orange color. The seats have been reupholstered. Because the car has been garaged the dash has no cracks or dings. There are some negatives to the car but it runs great and is in original condition. There is a minor leak to the front transmission seal and there is a small dent to left front fender. Car registration is current and the title is clean.
