Vehicle Detail
Description Are you looking for that unmolested, ultra low mile survivor 1971 Chevrolet Impala 2 door coupe? This is it... a 21,113 original mile, one family owned, 1971 Chevrolet Impala 2 Door Hardtop with 21,113 original miles. This stunning survivor belongs in a Chevrolet dealer or museum. It has been in the same family since the car was purchased from Jim King Chevrolet in Bay View in April, 1971. This car is original down to the tires which were removed but saved. Note the original T3 headlights. Also note the phenomenal original interior and outstanding original paint. It also has the original bill of sale, warranty booklet, and even the original window sticker! Below is a video collection of the car: Please scroll down and enjoy the 400+ photos. If you cannot view all the photos, please click here. Condition Report: The vehicle is being sold to settle an estate. It was purchased by the grandparents of the current owner who was recently deceased. The grandparents drove the car sparingly (19,000 miles in 20 years) when purchased by the grandson in 1990. At that time, radial tires were added, and the car was stored and displayed at local car shows. It has been driven roughly 2000 miles since 1990. It has an incredible 21,113 miles on the car. This vehicle has been well maintained and appears to be nearly all original. It retains the original bias belted tires and spare. The tires were removed and saved when replaced with radial tires in the early 1990s. The vehicle still retains 3 of the original T3 headlights with the burned out 4th T3 in the trunk. It retains it's original sheet metal and most of the original paint. We did notice a bit of touch up behind the front wheels but the rest of the paint appears to be original from what we can tell. The paint is shiny and is in outstanding condition for the age. The aluminum trim behind the front wheels is loose and will be removed and carefully placed in the trunk. There is 1) NOS GM trim also included with the sale. The chrome and anodized aluminum is beautiful. The grill has one imperfection as shown in the photos. The 245 HP 350 CI engine also appears to be original as well as most or all of the components. It starts and runs well, but it appears to be running a bit rich as evidenced with a bit of black smoke at startup. It runs and idles as it should, but we suggest running some fresh gas through the car and maybe a tune up is in order due to age. The transmission shifts a it should, and the brakes work well. It drives smooth and straight, and is quiet while going down the road. It is a power steering, power brake car with front discs, without air conditioning. The interior is in outstanding shape, aside from one small tear in the vinyl by the seat adjustment. There is also a small spatter of dirt or something by the ends of the headliner as shown in the photos that will need to be cleaned. The headliner is free of tears or holes. The floor mats have been in the car since it was new. The package shelf under the rear window is mint, and the dash is free of cracks. The radio works intermittently, the wipers work well. The glass also appears to be all original, including the windshield. It has beautiful floor and trunk pans. Being a WI vehicle, there is slight scaly rust under the car from sitting on concrete for years. To summarize, it is our opinion that this well documented, ultra low mile survivor would be a very nice addition to anyone collection, dealer showroom, or museum. It would make a great gift for the Chevy enthusiast. Additional auction information: This vehicle is sold as-is. We cannot warranty any parts on any used vehicle.
