You are bidding on a 1962 Porsche 356 Super Coupe with a factory sunroof. This car was originally purchased in Encino, California, at one of the most famous Porsche dealerships on the west coast, Gabriel – Olsen Porsche Audi of Encino. It has spent its entire existence in California until I bought it. The second owner bought it in 1974, drove it for about 5 years, then parked it in a carport in 1979, where it remained until about a year ago. It has not been started since 1979. This is a matching numbers car with the original engine it came with from the factory (see pictures). All 4 wheels are date-coded 7/62 (the spare wheel is missing). According to the COA, the car came with 2 Talbot mirrors, one of which is still present on the driver’s side and in good condition, chrome horn ring (still present and in good condition), chrome wheels (mentioned above), and “balance spring” (I don’t know what this is). This car has never been messed with and has never had any attempt at any type of restoration. It was simply driven by the original owner for about 12 years, then driven by the second owner for about 5 years, then parked for the last 36 years. It has had one repaint in the original red color at some time in the past. There is some fairly minor rust here and there on the external body that is obvious on the pictures, but none of it appears serious enough to need more than minor patching rather than complete repair panels. The floor pan has no holes that I could see (see pictures). The engine is very complete and original. I did not try to turn it over but I would expect that whoever restores it will want to do a complete engine rebuild anyway. I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I can give the name of a good, reliable shipper if you wish.
