I purchased this car about 1984 from the second owner AND it has been in my backyard ever since…I have never tried to start the car but the oil in the engine looks remarkable AFTER ALL THESE YEARS see Once restored this car will make a really nice driver. I WAS TOLD The original 327cui engine had been replaced with a corvette 327cui engine CIRCA 1962. before I purchased the car. The car comes with a 4 speed transmission, HURST shifter, 4.11 posi with rebound straps. The body is nice, never wrecked, no cracks, it’s covered in primer JUST to protect the fiberglass from the sun. The original hardtop had been stolen long before I purchased the car. The floor is excellent, nice doors, hood, AND deck gaps, FRONT GRILLE AREA STILL HAS ALL GRILLE MOUNTING TABS. WHEEL WELL LIPS ARE CLEAN. HEADLIGHT OPENINGS ARE CLEAN. FENDERS ARE EXCELLENT. The windows are in great shape but the windshield DOES NOT HAVE ANY CRACKS ONLY 2 bullseyes. The window regulators roll up/down easily. The wonder bar radio works but is missing 1 knob. The seatbelts are red in GOOD shape EXCEPT FOR some fading. The soft top frame is in good shape opens AND folds easily but one of the supports needs a new rivet and there is small amount of VISIBLE rust, the entire frame will need a new canvas top. There are 3 areas in the fiberglass that have minor damage: Previous work at right front corner is visible, Bottom of driver’s door, and at right rear of the car on bottom of valence (see pix). The frame is nice and straight with no rot, only minor surface rust. There’s a courtesy light, heater, T-3 headlights (one broken), all 4 taillights, radiator, expansion tank, generator, valve covers, The car comes with many parts, things that are missing or needs to be fixed: the bumpers are in great shape but need to be rechromed. The fiberglass is really good shape but needs a gelcoat. chrome front fender spars, rocker mouldings, the trunk emblem aND front emblemS, door handles are all missing, CORRECT AIR CLEANER IS MISSING, interior NEEDS COMPLETE restoRATION. FYI This 1962 Corvette is for sale in “as is” condition there is no warranty. I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE THE CAR TO THE BEST OF ITS CONDITION (SEE PIX). Inspection is recommended before the auction ends. The car is for sale Locally, and I Reserve the right to end the Auction at Anytime.
