Vehicle Detail
One of a kind solid SUV that was built from frame up in 2010. The rebuild/conversion included swapping in the LQ9 6.0L 350hp engine, 4L65E transmission, wiring, instrumentation, electronics, computer, body lines/fender flares and all the interior from a 2005 Escalade ESV. The front clip was replaced with a 03-04 Pickup front end on it to match the sharp body lines and fender flares of the Escalade ESV. It has been called a "Suburbalade" by friends and family and an SS by others doing similar conversions. This rebuild/conversion basically brought the vehicle to 2005 Escalade ESV specs with the exception of the obvious. You could take this vehicle to any dealer or shop and have it serviced as a 2005. Some highlights of the upgrades include:Increased 70 HP by upgrading the 5.3L to the 6.0L LQ9 Escalade or also called "Vortec Max" EngineUpgrade the 4L60E transmission to 4L65E for increased torque rating10-way adjustable front seats with memoryHeated front seatsHeated rear seatsOverhead DVD player for the rear passengersPedal adjustment with memoryElectric folding side mirrors with memory, courtesy (puddle) lights and turn signalsFactory Bose System with Navigation and 6-disc CD changerImproved Instrument Panel with enhanced DICWood trim throughout including the steering wheelBVLGARI clockAmerican Racing WheelsNitto Dune Grappler Tires E load range with lots of tread remaining (I have ran a set of these for 80k and they have about 15k on them)Selectable Auto 4WD (AWD); 2HI; 4HI; 4LO; NEUTRAL transfer case (you won't find that in an Escalade!)ESV Platinum Running BoardsAbout 2" or so of lift all the way around (Its not bagged, but can be easily lowered around 3-4" from where it is at in the pictures - I may go lower tomorrow and get some pictures posted)Lots of other improvements, but those are the highlights. If you know what an Escalade ESV has - this has all that and more. Since the rebuild this truck has been to Colorado from Texas (probably 4-6 trips). Also have pulled around an enclosed trailer with ATV's/UTV's and all our gear and a 30' RV with no problems - this vehicle out performs the 6.0l in the 1999-2007 classic 3/4 ton pickups all day long (320HP LQ4 trucks versus 345HP LQ9). It was basically a vehicle for me to tow and haul my toys, my wife and kids around on vacations. I have since moved on to a 3/4 ton Duramax that I customized with an enclosed bed with seats, AC and camper on the bed for the kids, the wife has her own ESV and we haven't really been using the "Suburbalade" the past year or 2, so time to find a new home! The vehicle is solid and mechanically sound. I have well over $60,000 from the original Z71 purchase and all the upgrades in 2010! It would cost $60k+ do go buy an optioned vehicle like this one, NADA shows a 123,000 mile "Clean" ESV at around $14,500. I see higher mileage run down ESV's going for about that much. THE RESERVE AND BUY IT NOW IS WAY LESS THAN THAT AND WHAT THIS TYPE OF CONVERSION WOULD COST TO BUILD/BUY FROM A BUILDER/DEALER - DO SOME SEARCHING ON "SUBURBAN SS CONVERSION" Please feel free to ask any questions.
