Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE You are bidding on avery nice, hard-to-find 1974 Ford F-100 Custom 4x4 short wide bed pickup truck. This truck is very solid everywhere you look, and while not a flawless truck, it is pretty darn straight, and as rust-free as you might ever find. I think you will agree this is one of the nicer surviving examples, especially at this price level. It has been loved and well cared-for, properly maintained over its life, and is ready to go for the next owner. The truck features a mild 4" Rancho suspension lift in front, with blocks and overload springs in the rear, which puts it at factory High Boy height, like it's F-250 big brother... looks tough, and is factory-solid. Rancho RS-5000 shock absorbers all around. She rides on 33" x 12.5" x 15" LT Mud & Snow radial tires, still retaining plenty of their original meaty tread. The wheel bearings have been redone, as have the brakes. Very solid and sound suspension all around. The body panels are original Ford, and while not flawless, the truck is very straight, as you can see from the various picture angles. She is wearing an older poor quality touched-up exterior repaint in white over the factory-original Wimbledon White, with nice original factory paint in the door jambs and cabin. Again, while not perfect, the paint still shines nicely, and the truck shows well, as you can see in the images, taken from about 15’ away. The glass is good throughout, and the side glass rolls up and down with ease. Grills and front surround are excellent, nice chrome front and rear bumpers. Trailer receiver hitch with wiring under the rear bumper, with a trailer brake controller in the cabin. Mechanically, the truck is very sound, featuring the original 360 engine with a light overhaul, backed by the original 4-speed manual transmission, 4x4 transfer case, big factory axles with original 3.50:1 ring and pinions (perfect balance of performance and drivability), and locking front hubs. The engine overhaul included rings and bearings, head surface. seals, gaskets, oil pump, fuel pump, and water pump. The exhaust sides of the beads were also surfaced, along with the factory exhaust manifolds for a tight seal with no exhaust leaks. A dual Cherry Bomb exhaust system was done at the same time; the truck sounds mean on the throttle. The truck has been driven regularly, so nothing but clean fuel has ever gone through the tank, lines, and carb. The truck also features power brakes, and a new 1,000 CCA battery to insure reliable starts every time. Radiator has been recently cleaned and serviced as well. Fresh engine tune-up parts, belts, hoses, fluids, etc. The interior is still very decent and presentable, comfortably usable as-is, with the original black floor mat, door panels, headliner, etc. showing honest wear, with nothing hidden. The original bench seat has been changed to an 80’s bench. Normally this would bother me, but the style, color, and fit is excellent, and not out of character for the truck... if you didn’t know the difference, you might mistake it for the original. Newer aftermarket stereo. Very nice gauge cluster, all gauges seem to be working properly. The underside is also very clean, with no troublesome rust issues. Not flawless perfect, but nothing larger than a pinhole here and there. The truck as a whole exhibits only surface rust here and there, with the minor exception of a small pinhole perforation here and there. This is a good one; you will be hard-pressed to find a nicer early Ford 4x4 shorty for the money. Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for inspection, export, etc. Please be prepared to remit payment in full within 3 days of auction's end via deposit into my Bank of America account, bank-to-bank wire transfer, or major bank cashier’s check (must clear issuing bank prior to releasing the title and/or truck). Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I will make the truck and myself available to your carrier on short notice. I can recommend an affordable carrier with whom I have had good performance, but the choice is exclusively yours. While every effort is being made do describe the truck as accurately as possible, it is in fact a 41-year-old classic, and therefore being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. Please call me at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have. Zero- or low feedback bidders, please call me PRIOR to bidding to let me know you are genuine and able to perform after the sale.
