Vehicle Detail
1973 FJ-40 Landcruiser. Very little restoration has been done to this vehicle. Motor and Drive Train:It has a GM V-8 motor which I liked because parts are readily available and inexpensive. The battery, fuel pump and carburetor are less than 1 year old. Excellent Oil pressure. Does not burn oil.The motor runs very well and starts easily. The transmission is a 1974 4-speed. The original was a 3-speed.I do not know how many miles are on the engine.Odometer reads 93,902 mi at time of listing.Alternator was tested when I bought the new battery.Vehicle Comments:All the lights work - interior and exteriorHeaters/blowers both work wellAll the Items on the dash work...even the cigarette lighter.Previous owner made a cut to the dashboard to install a radio. I have new metal that can be cut in and I have a reproduction Toyota "radio delete" cover.Rear sill is rusted through. I have a new sill.Rust behind the doors.Floor pans have surface rust but are solid.Rear floor has very little rust - very solidInterior roof is in fair shape with some staining and one loose spot.Drives well but has rattles and squeaks. I dont drive it over 60mph.I have reproduction bumperettes not installed.Safari rack locks work. Rack is tight with no issues.New car cover included...never usedGlass is in good condition with some stone chips to the windshield.I've enjoyed having the vehicle. I've owned it for about 7 years and drive it maybe 5-10 times a month in the summer. I'm ready to move on to a different toy so this one has to go to make room in the driveway for the boat that's coming. The vehicle has not been restored but given the solid body its a good candidate. I bought it with the GM V-8 because I wanted a reliable driver that I could work on and get parts for and not a show car. I dont know of any mechanical issues. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. On Sep-26-15 at 20:27:59 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple of note that I lost during the creation of this listing:The WARN winch is fully functional. No mechanical issues. As you can see by the pictures there is a high-lift jack included. The fog lamps work great. No issues.I kept the tires coated with "Shine" or similar...no dry rot and lots of tread left.On Sep-29-15 at 13:02:37 PDT, seller added the following information: I could not locate the rear sill that I stated that I have...my apologies.
