Vehicle Detail
This Honda is an unbelievable find and yes, I have two them. The one being offered at this auction has 5.2 actual and certifiable miles. The second bike will be offered for sale at a later date and has 421.2 certifiable miles. The successful bidder of the bike being offered in this auction will have the first option to buy the second GB500 that can be seen in some of the photos. Here is the story. Both bikes were originally purchased by a friend of mine in 1989 as a investment. He never intended to ride these bikes and have been in storage until April of 2015 when I purchased them from his estate. This auction is for the one that came to me with 4 miles on it. The original temporary license tag was on the bike and is included with this sale. It has dealer information on the reverse of the tag. After purchase, I had a certified Honda Mechanic clean the fuel system including the tank and carb. He changed all fluids and installed a new battery. We started the bike, made fine adjustments to the carb, and I test drove the bike for one mile. The bike runs great. The brakes, lights, and shifting all function like a new bike. The tires are original and do not show age cracking. The paint stripes still are visable on the original tire surfaces as further evidence that this bike has essentially not been driven. The tank has been filled with fuel and stabil has been added to the fuel in both the tank and carb. The petcock gasket leaked from the many years in dry storage so I replaced the petcock with a new correct Honda replacement part. Also included is the original manuals and tool kit. It does have two notable defects that have developed during its storage. The first is two minor dimple dents on the right side of the fuel tank measuring about 1/2 inch in diameter. The paint at these dimples is not cracked and the surface is smooth and shinny They are noticeable under certain light conditions. I have not attempted to repair these dimples as it is best left up to the owner and a professional to determine if repair is needed or desirable. The second defect is an very minor amount surface rust on the top side of the horn near the electrical connections I touched it up with a tiny brush and black pint. I mention this because this rare bike will receive close examination and someone will spot this if they look close enough. I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. I am quite familiar with the GB500 model and have driven one for several years. The title is in my name. I am will to provide a notorized statement of accurate mileage and bike history based on my personal knowledge of its past.
