The 1996 Chevy Impala SS, is a collector car in its on right .....floor shifter , last of the big Chevy rwd sedan. Many people still loved the Chevy Impala so Chevy decided to take the Caprice and basically add some factory aftermarket packaged items and make the Impala SS from 1994-1996. The vehicle code was "WX3" for Impala SS...not just a plain old Caprice. Many people cloned their Caprice to look like a true Impala SS. Many people do not know that Chevy actually did make the Chevy Caprice SS, but was designed for markets outside the USA. The name plate above the Radio stated "Caprice SS" and not Impala SS. The side emblems in the back said Caprice SS. The interior was all the same as the Impala SS and the vehicle code for the Chevy Caprice SS is "WX8". Some Caprice SS were badged as " Collector's Edition ", in reference to the 1996 being the last year of production, with a name plate stating that above the radio, on the back side windows and on the back of the car by the taillights...as you can see in the pictures. CAPRICE SS "WX8" "EXPORT" CU7......Country Code "KUWAIT". You can see it on the "SPID", where you can check all the codes from General Motors to see it is a true 1996 CAPRICE SS and not a clone. Car has been sitting for well over a year and badly needs a fresh paint job. Has had over $2000 worth of tune up work......oil change, spark plugs, transmission check, by certified A.S.E. Mechanic as of September 1,2015. The A.C. needs to have freon added and the heater does not work at this time. No rips in the interior at all. The dashboard does have a crack in it from the heat. The car has 264500 kilometers, which converts to 164352 miles. This is a very rare car and not to many in the USA, as most were all shipped to the Middle East or Canada.
