Hello all! What you have here is a once in a blue moon opportunity! This Jetta GLI is all original. 16v 9A 2.0, non-ABS vehicle. Matching number engine and transmission, interior, paint, and even the dealer window sticker! I have owned this vehicle for about 18 months; purchased it from my good friend who had it for a couple years before me. This vehicle was going to be my project; however, I have some unexpected medical bills I need to address. So my loss is your gain! The only items that have been modified on this vehicle are: the alternator (replaced with an ABF setup which includes a custom built 120A alternator from EAA Engineering), converted to manual steering with all new equipment, and the suspension was replaced. Which if I remember correctly are KW coil-overs. I have replaced all the rubber on this vehicle, to include: control arms, sway bar bushings, motor and trans mounts, sub-frame mounts, hoses, belts, you name it. I also had the timing belt done and did the head gasket about 500 miles ago. The interior is in damn near perfect condition, as you can see by the pictures. There is minor wear on the back seats and driver seat. Very minor wear. The dash has a couple cracks on the top and the silver trim on the glove box is cracked in two places, beyond that, the dash is in an excellent, functional state. The cruise control works on this bad boy and even the MAF is 100% functional! The vacuum pump for the power lock is disconnected but it is completely functional. Sunroof works perfectly and does not leak. Has K&N air filter as well as an aftermarket header, high-flow catalytic converter, and exhaust. Passes CA smog. Car is rust and accident free!! (Has been a California and Oregon car its whole life). Original 15x6j BBS wheels. Below is a list of the new parts I have for the restoration: Rain gutters/door seals (not pictured) they are used, but practically brand new (extremely rare part) Window trim for all four windows New, black, interior trim pieces for A and C pillars Oil filters (3) Refurbished transmission with grey powder coat (not pictured) 1.8 head NOT refurbished New valve seals for the 2.0 (not that they're needed any time soon) The original power steering set up New A/C hosing and condenser (not sure if compressor works but I have that too) Original rear taillights and turn signals Brand new Bilistein suspension for all four corners (EVERYTHING NEEDED) Rare, digital oil pressure gauge Miscellaneous accessory gauges, period specific VW factory parts Door locking mechanisms Used door cards for all four doors Various miscellaneous parts The bad: Starter solenoid is shot (I disconnected the ignition switch from the starter and have just been jumping it with a piece of O gauge wire. If you don't mind opening the hood to start the car, its barely inconvenient. Starts up on first turn. Paint is worn in a few spots (roof and trunk) and could use a new coat; however, after a wash it still shines!! Rear window button doesn't work, so you must use the one in the door. I believe I have another one to install. I can't remember at the moment. Struggles a little bit under full load accelerating. I think it needs a new air filter. It keeps me from getting speeding tickets, so I haven't really minded lol. (Drives perfectly otherwise) Headliner is missing from the sunroof back. Still has headliner molding, just missing the material.
