Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1975 GMC Sierra Grande pickup truck, in gold and white. I was told that I am the third owner, the previous owner had it for only a year and the original owner had it since new until last year. From what the previous owner told me the mileage is accurate. With it only being a five digit gauge I can't tell if it has only 67k or 167k miles. The interior only looks like 67k miles and there are various oil replacement tags that would coincide with it having only 67k miles. The frame and engine make it seem more likely that it has 167k miles. Please take a look at the pictures. I'll try to describe it the best that I can, but if I miss anything feel free to ask me questions. The truck's interior is in good shape. The plastics are all in good shape, without any major discoloration, fading, or cracking. The carpet is also in good shape, appears to have been well protected. The paint on the inside is in great shape. There is a slight amount of rust on the bottom of the door jambs. Otherwise the interior is in great shape and really makes the truck shine. Mechanically the truck is alright. The transmission shifts smoothly and works as it should. The lights all work, including the brights, hazards, turn signals and even the interior light. The 350 engine needs a little work. It currently sputters a bit, could either just need some carburetor work, or maybe it has something to do with the fuel pump. It doesn't like to go up hill at slow speeds. The AC does work and blows COLD. The heater also works too. The fuel gauge, temperature gauge and oil pressure gauge all work. The speedometer isn't very accurate and I don't think the clock works and I am not sure about the amperage gauge. The radio also works, but I wasn't able to figure out how to try out the CB radio. It also has an auxiliary gas tank, but I am not sure what condition it is in. The windows roll up and down easily. The power steering works as it should. The brakes work, but could probably be better. The body of the truck is pretty straight. There aren't any major dents. The paint is in decent shape for the age (looks better in the pictures than in person). I believe the white has been repainted due to some over spray on the inside of the doors. Oddly enough the white paint shows the most wear, with chips here and there. I'd rate the paint as a 6.5 out of 10. It looks alright at 20 feet, but the closer you get the more wear you see. The chrome is in surprisingly good shape, it isn't dented or pitted and is still nice and bright. The glass is in good shape, besides a small chip in the windshield. The frame is also in pretty good shape, it has some surface rust but nothing too bad. Sadly the truck bed is a different story. The pickup bed has quite a bit of rust, and is rusted all the way through in some areas (mostly towards the very back). I've tried to take pictures of the underside and of the rust at the back of the pickup. I am guessing this happened due to the camper top. So either a lot of repair needs done to the bed, or it could be replaced, or possibly just the floor could be replaced (I'd think it would look great with a wood bed). As can be seen there's nothing in the camper, there is just some glued down carpet. Also included is the original tail gate, which is in ok shape, just with a few dents. Obviously the side steps are add-ons, and were welded to the frame but could be easily cut off. The rear mud flap and hitch are just bolted on along with the front tire mount. Overall this is a good truck and could benefit from some restoration. It currently isn't a daily driver and I wouldn't drive it across the country, but with a little work could be a very nice truck. There are a few problems that need fixed, specifically the bed and then the engine needs to be tuned (possibly the carb or fuel pump as I mentioned before). I am sure any money put into this truck will be well worth it. The buyer is responsible for setting up shipping and I will help where I can. I am requesting a deposit of $500 in the first 48 hours. Other details can be worked out as they arise.
