Vehicle Detail

1940 FORD DELUXE COUPE Please check out all of the photos carefully. If you have any questions, please ask and I will answer them as completely as I am able. This is a decent old Ford coupe. Absolutely perfect for a hot rodder as all the "bones" are there to make yourself a cool car. Wonderful pretty much "as is" for the local cruise-in at McDonald's, etc. It was recently acquired by a friend of mine that has now chosen to go a different route and restore a '40 convertible instead. I am listing this car for my friend without reserve. Plus, the starting bid is more than reasonable as any person that knows anything about these realizes. Okay, here's what I can tell you about this car... It had been stored for 25+ years. Pulled out of storage, it has had a new fuel tank installed (Tanks, Inc.), all new wheel cylinders and a dual (conversion) master cylinder. A new aluminum radiator has been installed along with new hoses and a 2500cfm electric fan. This car had a transplant '49 - '53 Ford flatty installed in it at some point in its past. It is coupled to the authentic transmission. The engine starts immediately and runs well. It sounds good too! Transmission shifts nicely. Brakes work well. I have run this car up and down the road with no issues. It has been converted to 12 volts. A new battery was installed along with a chrome plated 12v. alternator. Tires are decent. Please note all the garnish moldings are intact as is some of the original glass. Nice seat and dash. Head liner is nice for the most part. However, there is one spot where I am guessing mice got it. Picture shows the damage. Door panels are pretty nice but it appears moths have had a feast upon them in spots. No spare tire & wheel but there is a new trunk lid weather strip. Oh yeah, the steering wheel is very nice. Not all cracked up as most are. I have a clear and correct title for this car of course. Okay, here's the so called "fine print": I think the $12,500 starting bid is a bargain and have NO RESERVE. Yes, of course I am hoping it goes a lot higher for my buddy than that but this is after all an auction. He is not attempting to get a free appraisal. The car is for sale :). If in fact I only get the minimum bid, so be it... you will get the car. A "deal is a deal". What I expect from the buyer is a $500 (paypal) deposit within 24 hours of the auctions end. No excuses - 24 hours. The balance must be paid within five (5) days of the auctions end. I accept money orders, cashiers checks, wire transfers (preferred) but understand the car will not be released prior to any payment method being "cleared". I do not accept cash. If you miss either "deadline" without making an agreement with me, you will loose the deposit and / or the opportunity to obtain this car. I deal "straight"and expect the same from you. Understand like any "old car" this is sold "as-is", "where-is". You buy it... it is yours. I am more than willing to help arrange transportation and load the car. I am located within five minutes of the Interstate (I-94) at the very southeast corner of Wisconsin. About eight minutes from the Illinois border. On Sep-02-15 at 07:00:57 PDT, seller added the following information: * I have added two photos of the running boards today. Very solid. Rubber is "okay". Note the rubber is cracked in a few spots. * I am getting numerous inquiries in regard to this vehicle. To reiterate (in part) of my original ad: I am selling this for a friend. Please ask any and all questions you feel necessary and I will do my best to answer them promptly. . When I purchase a well used vehicle, I always inspect it first. And as such, advise any perspective bidder to do the same so there are no misunderstandings nor possible oversights. On Sep-04-15 at 08:18:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Per a request, I have added two photos today depicting the "X" frame rails where they meet the side rails in the rear. Also, when I was under the car, I took a good look at the rear tires and they are NOT "okay" as I had previously described. They hold air very well but the tread is poopy.
