Vehicle Detail
Here is a very nice 1974 Honda CL 450 DOHC. It has 7945 miles on it and I do believe this is the original mileage. Just look at the condition of the original seat & grips---that says it all to me when it comes to motorcycles. The paint is original and really nice, it has one original key, the tires are original---old, cracked, but they still hold air as long as most new tires, original mirrors and light lens. It starts & runs wonderful and has a new YUASA battery & clean carbs. The gas tank has been cleaned & coated. This bike was sold new by Stich's Honda in Sioux Falls South Dakota and although, as you can see, it was clearly stored inside (seat, tires, etc.) it got some rust on it. The rims, kick stand, gas tank, and some other areas. The mufflers, original HM347's have been patched by a professional body shop here in Aurora CO and turned out pretty good--the only visible spot is on top of the lower exhaust pipe, but it sounds just like new. Some detail has been done as described, but this bike deserves much more. I drove it down our street (yes, even on those tires) and it is very nice. I bought one of these new in '72 and I'm sure you know, if your taking the time to read this, that these are really great motorcycles. My plan here was to relive my youth and restore this bike, I was than bitten by the 750 bug (which I couldn't afford in the day) and so sat the 450. By the way, so I don't forget, on my drive the speedo needle was very sporadic so I checked the odometer and it is dead on----rode it 1.4 miles. Anyway I do believe the mileage but the speedo will need some attention. All of the lights work with the exception of the turn signal indicator, yellow--bulb must be out. Horn works, blinker is not the original but new round one, I do have the original square rubber holder for an original square blinker but have been unable to find a working one. A tool set is included. It starts immediately with either the electric starter or kick. Study the photos, which were taken yesterday along with my ride, and if you have questions please ask. A $500 PayPal deposit will be required within 24 hours of the auction close with the remainder due within 7 days. The winning bidder is responsible for pickup and transportation, I will be available to help in anyway.
