Vehicle Detail
Bought this car at a dealer as a project, have now moved on to a different project so no longer have time for this one. This one needs a new engine, engine is seized, shows metal shavings in cylinder one closest to the timing belt. Body in good condition, see the pictures for details, usual paint scrapes and blemishes for a car from 2004 but you won't find many that are under 100K miles. Very little rust on the underside except for one spot on the driver side near the rear tire (see picture). Could not start the car, so couldn't test all components. All electronics seem to work fine - radio, windows, dash, blower, headlights and tail lights. Beyond that, couldn't start the car so don't know about the transmission or any other potentials. The transmission does hold the car in place fine when in any gear and park, rolls freely in neutral, best I can tell you. Tires have about 2 years left on them. Convertible top is manual, works just fine, do have the cover for the folded top in the trunk. The previous owner put in a nice Pioneer sound system, still plays music loudly (as my daughter demonstrated to me) and the radio changes colors constantly - really cool to see during the night. I do not know if the air conditioning works - again, have never had the car started. Good project car for the winter to get ready for the spring, was either going to put another 2.7L 6-cylinder engine in or convert to a 2.4L 4-cylinder (new motor/transmission/computer), but now have found an older Mustang to work and spend my money on. If you find the right combo, you can buy this car, put in the components and have a good looking convertible for around $2-2.5K total investment. Hard to beat that price. To help you get started, if the car sells for over $1000 and you want me to take the seized engine out for you, no problem, just need a few days over the weekend. If it doesn't sell for over $1,000, then we can still pull the engine but it will cost you and additional $100 - cheap labor, and you don't have to worry about the engine! Only local pickup. If you want to ship this car, you will be responsible for arranging and paying all transportation costs. There is no warranty given or implied from me for this vehicle. I've told and showed you everything about the car that I know.
