This car was professionally rebuilt from the ground up mechanically without consideration of cost to achieve my final goals. The Machine shop is owned by a former Pontiac Machinist of this era. He did a fine job bringing the old and new together and planning the total build up with me, My goals were, car must outrun all current American Made Sports Cars, be reliable for daily driving, be ready to drive 5000 miles in an instant without any major concerns, be capable of achieving 17-18MPG on highway, and regardless of how I drive on the street, last at least 100,000 miles with improved handling and no concerns about twisting the car in two! This was asking a lot, but it was done, and proven at least in part. I DROVE IT almost 100 miles after mechanicals before body work and did a total tear down to get all the hidden issues too! Oh, I almost forgot that I color matched the bumpers and integrated the rear bumper to keep those mistaking the car for a 1970 GTO confused! The one thing I didn't want was just another WEAK POWERED replica of a MEAN MUSCLE MACHINE. This car is not a TRAILER QUEEN nor a show only stalling when driven, museum piece. It turns lots of heads and will open wide the eyes of the NEXT CROTCH ROCKET that tries to pass you and fogets to look before he comes over! Included in your bidding is the final assembly that I have not done only because due to spinal cord and brain stem trauma I should not drive anymore. Let's dig in see what we find! Yep, Rocker was done, floors too, but 1/4 looks solid but its for a CAMARO! What the heck? We'll just replace this crap and do the job once so my car won't be back for paint again in 6 months! With the name Kings-of-Junk and cars really just a hobby and providing online services for Cohen, you know my girl had to have a nice full rear end! I did use a DA to get 1/4" of filler out, but I used 120 not 40 because I'd like to think I can refinish the car again if I needed to, with plans of holding on to her! If you look in the right lower corner you can see where pitting was starting and a few pinholes developed. Since I hate talc filler, a bit of glass filler or seam sealer was used to fill the pinholes before sealer and top coating. I like spatter Back/Aqua but it washed off so this trunk is clear coated also and thereby sealed from top and bottom. As you can see I took this all apart and refinished it to make me happy and worry free. Hard to see but the new quarter is lined up and welded with the old bumper holes and holes are retained for BOLTING ON a BUMPER is you don't like integrated look. I like it but wasn't sure so took measures to reverse if desired! These car often rust out under the glass and unless you know it, you might paint your car than find out you got a water leak and your new floors will rot out again. I removed the glass located the beginning of issues and repaired this with metal and welded the SEAM know to fail to end my worry about that. Since I am not in the business of staying in work I didn't fail to address this common issue that will likely be hidden in most F Body auctions. OK, This is a NO BONDO ROCKER, QUARTED PANEL, FLOOR as it looks after the metal work. Some people said I did good work before my accident making this car available now! Most body shops don't work metal so just so you know, this is what simple sheet metal repairs looks like. A lightened up second view of that floor work. I wasn't crawling up under car to look at often so although I could make this invisible what I don't see was not really important and as a matter of fact I welded it full seal in addition to fill welds. Why? The engine will twist these F body convertible into a pretzel and this car was not built for snacking. Another view of the new rocker and the door.
