This is truck No. 5 of those I have listed. 1948 Chevrolet 1.5 ton with 2-speed rear end, hoist and nice water-tight bed. Does not run. This truck is almost identical to another truck of the same color and vintage in my other auction- other truck has title. This truck has NO title. Pros: 5 window cab, and cab is said to be same as pickup except for fenders. Has features listed above. Nice looking tires, but old. Cons: some rust at cowl just below driver's lower front windshield, see photo. This is the only point to this truck that annoys me and is the basis for my starting price. Right rear brake locks up at times and am told it is minor mechanical problem with brake cam flipped over. Has desirable 261 engine which I discovered after much research, but it has one bent push rod. Otherwise, this can be a really nice truck considering the desirable cab and hoist. Wood on side racks has peeling paint and looks bad, but is solid, (dry climate). Rather nice construction details incorporated into this bed and carefully assembled and well thought out construction. Terms as follows: no sales outside of continental U.S. Ebay will ask for $200 deposit within 48 hours of auction close; balance to be paid within 7 days of auction close. If trucks are picked up within the 7 days, balance after deposit may be paid in cash. Buyer needs to be able to load and haul trucks. Good trailer with husky winch helpful considering hanging up brake on one side, rear. Seller has no ability to load, OR ship trucks. Trucks MUST be picked up within two, (2) weeks following auction close or storage may be charged. Questions, please ask. Also a snapshot of the original owners standing by the truck cab...long, long ago. I tend to keep every scrap of paper I find in old rigs, even ragged pieces of old registrations. Additional note: A helpful viewer has informed me that, "This one is a 2 ton, and not 1 1/2 ton." Good to know it is a heavier built truck. Thank you.
