Vehicle Detail

This beautiful maxi cab has been well cared for and, except for the few flaws that are detailed in the images, is like new. Well cared for by both of us owners, it’s almost always been garaged. Loaded with extras, you can see on the original price sticker that the price was nearly $17,000 when my late postal customer bought it new. He owned it about 10 years until his wife bought him a new S-10. The leather bound owners manual and other delivery documents are in good condition and included. I had always liked this utilitarian beauty with its rare white over red paint job when I saw him driving it. Before he had time to decide how to sell it, he and I struck a deal. For about the last 13 years it has mainly sat in my garage, and I’ve driven it about 15,000 miles. However, I would not hesitate to set out on a 3000 mile trip. I’ve been careful to power wash the underside quickly after the few exposures its had to Midwestern road salt. Its never been parked without the engine/exhaust system being at operating temperatures for at least 20 minutes. Those procedures plus frequent oil/filter changes and other recommended maintenance have helped keep its functional components as fresh as its interior and exterior appearance. There are four new tires with less than 2000 miles on them, a nearly new alternator and the air-conditioning system was updated to use readily available types of Freon when it needed recharging after 20 years. In preparing it for sale, I had the interior and exterior professionally detailed, except for the floor of the cargo bed, which has a heavy pad covering it. Nothing was done under the hood or on the underside. Before I sold my 1991 S-10, I switched the audio systems and rear view mirror. That means there are two powerful map lights built into this mirror and the radio/cassette has an equalizer plus FM/AM stereo. You read correctly. AM stereo! I’m not sure whether there are any AM stations that continue to broadcast in stereo. However, included in this collectible vehicle is a rare radio that can process AM stereo signals if there are any around. The interior is a striking red, its carpet is plush and the special high-back bucket seats are comfortable even after six hours of driving. The smoked plastic side window & hood deflectors help keep the windshield clear and the rain outside when the window is slightly open. There are model-specific front and back floor mats. The clever foldaway jump seats have not been used more than a handful of times. The powerful Isuzu-built 4.3 liter V6 and it’s matched 4 speed with overdrive automatic transmission plus the special gearing of the rear axle (a factory option) give this truck incredible torque. The EFI makes starting easy and fast. Even after unused for three months, the engine starts instantly after a single pump on the accelerator. Whether you are investing in a dependable versatile productive light truck or in a collectible vehicle for show, this unique Chevy will make you smile. On Aug-15-15 at 09:19:53 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDITIONAL NOTES ADDED SATURDAY AUGUST 15:Is it a none smokers truck? No smoking in the truck in the 13 years I have had it. Don't know about original owner. No smoke/tobacco odor detectable now. Does it shake any while driving or pull to the right or left while driving? If you spray water on the windows will they leak? Is there any lights that stay on the dash while running? NO TO ALL. Only functional flaws are: Oil pressure gauge flutters at idle. Temp gauge not accurate (likely sensor). When was the last time the transmission was flash out? I have not flushed. Don't know about original owner. Fluid looks uncontaminated. The crack on the windshield is it in the drivers side view of vision? It is on drivers side but too high on glass to affect my view. Someone more than 6'4" could be annoyed by the crack. By your description you have on the truck seems very up front. I think I've been too upfront, and that is what is bringing some of the crazy questions like would it make it home if that was a 1,0000 mile trip. This truck is solid. I would set off to anywhere in it tomorrow without concern about problems. If I do bid on the truck and win it I have to decide if I want to pick it up and drive it back to Texas where it will never see salt and will be baby or have a shipping company co to pick it up. How long do I have till I have to pick it up after you receive full payment? I would like to have it out of my garage by the second week of October. Des Moines International (DSM) is less than 10 miles from my garage. We can pick you up and bring you here. By the way, I took a close look at underside. Most of it looks like new. Surface rust mainly is on frame members & drive shaft. There is no title or odometer issue. Auto Check report is inaccurate. Both Iowa DOT & I have contacted them about it, but there's been no correction yet.
