Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a rare and cool Ford factory hot rod pickup... specifically a 1976 F-100 Ranger SNB (short narrow bed, or stepside) pickup, factory-equipped with the biggest engine option available that year, the legendary 390 FE-series V8. This is the same engine that powered the big-block GT Mustangs in the late 60's, and while quite powerful in stock form, it's also a wonderful platform for an easy high-horsepower build. This particular truck continues down the "rare road" in that it still wears its factory-original Black paint job (still shines like mad) and Black interior. Doesn't get much more hot rod than that, and this isn't someone's build... it was ordered from the Ford Factory this way! The body is extremely straight, and almost totally rust free. In fact, other than minor surface rust where the paint has chipped or failed, the only rust to be found is a small area on the rear passenger fender, leading edge, under the bedside step. That's it. No floor, rocker, cab corner, cab mount, door, fender, hood, pillar, window channel, etc. rust. The original black paint still shines like mad, with a gorgeous patina you can't buy new. As solid as you'll likely ever find! The engine runs very well, and features an Edelbrock aluminum 4v intake and new Edelbrock 4v carburetor, along with a fresh tune up including plugs, cap, rotor, wires, and ignition timing. Starts first turn of the key, runs well throughout the rpm range. The heavy-duty C6 automatic transmission shifts smoothly and operates as it should. The big 9" rear end is sound, without issue. The driveline has new universal joints. The front suspension features new bushings and new gas shocks, and the brake system is completely rebuilt including a new master cylinder, brake hoses, wheel hubs and disc brake rotors, wheel bearings, new calipers and pads, new lines, etc. A full rebuild, and the brakes work beautifully. The rear suspension features stock leaf springs and good shocks. The wheels are aluminum five-spoke mags, wearing decent radial tires. The electrical system features a new battery, new battery cables, a new starter solenoid/relay, and a new starter. The fuel system features an oversized tank (estimated 25 gallon capacity), fuel lines purged, new fuel pump, new fuel lines, and new fuel filter. The exhaust system features new manifold gaskets and "cherry bomb" glass pack-style mufflers... it sounds mean. This is a well sorted out truck that turns heads wherever she goes... and with good reason. This truck will make someone very happy... it's a very unique and special truck. You may call me at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have. Please be prepared to remit payment in full within 3 days of auction's end via bank wire transfer, or deposit into my Bank of America account. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I will make myself available to your carrier on short notice. I can suggest an affordable carrier with whom I have had good results in the past, but the choice is yours. While every effort is being made to describe the truck as accurately as possible, it is in fact at 39-year-old classic, and therefore being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. Please look at the pictures carefully and ask any questions you wish. Please, no zero- or low-feedback bidders without calling me prior to bidding to discuss your intentions; thank you.
