Vehicle Detail
I purchased the truck from Cecil Atkission Ford in Hondo, Texas, on July 23, 1999, I installed a spray-on truck bed liner from Rhino Linings of South Texas, then I immediately drove it to Chicago. Gets about 15/16 miles per gallon in the city of Chicago. I am sure highway miles per gallon are higher but I don't know what it is since I only drove the truck in the city of Chicago. I ran into a yellow pole 14 years ago or so while pulling out of a parking spot, whoops, you will see the damage on the front driver side fender in the photos, its not too bad. Then I was involved in an accident also quite a long time ago but after hitting the yellow pole. It was my fault, I rear ended a older Ford Ranger, guess who had more damage, me. Everything was fixed except the front driver side fender which hit the yellow pole since the fender was not damaged in the accident. The bumper under the fender is fixed from the accident but the fender above the bumper is not fixed from hitting the yellow pole. You will see this in the photos. I have used only Mobil 1 fully synthetic 5W-20 motor oil since I purchased the truck. Tires have less that 10,000 miles on them. Battery is less than 2 months old. Air conditioning is in good working order. Heater is in good working order. I don't smoke, the vehicle is smoke free. CD player and AM/FM radio are in good condition. Overall the truck runs pretty well. The original floor mats are included and are in very good shape I just don't have them in the photos as I had taken them out to clean them. The truck has 70,040 miles divided by 16 years, this comes to 4,378 miles per year on average or about 12 miles per day. I don't drive it very often. I would image the truck could probably get another 50,000 miles or so. I am sure there will be necessary repairs along the way but all in all I think this truck is a good deal. Items that have been repaired over the years..... 2001 or thereabouts The rack and pinion power steering went bad, it was under warranty, Ford replaced it. 2010/11?? Had the manifold worked on. 8/27/2012 Replaced the full muffler, back and front half. 3/26/2013 Replaced Alternator 4/6/2015 Brakes fully and most expensively replaced, front and back including emergency brake cable. 6/4/2015 Replaced Starter. No longer works...... Dome Light. Car Alarm. Driver side mirror has been replaced. Missing middle seat belt. Very small, infrequent drip behind driver seat coming from top of back window, obviously when it is raining. One wheel's center cap is missing. The tire jack is missing. Engine light is currently 'on', engine seems to be working fine. Door Ajar light is also currently 'on' but trust me both doors are closed. There is rust on the inside bottom of the doors, not noticeable unless you get down and look for it. The front chrome bumper is starting to rust you will see that in the photos as well. There are scratches at various points on the truck, its just normal wear and tear of 16 years of usage. There is an acceleration issue that I have dealt with for about 13 years with the truck. Every once in a while, in the summer time only, never the winter time, when I am coming to a stop the truck engine may continue to rev even though I have taken it out of gear. If you are used to driving a manual then this is easy to deal with. You can simply place it back into gear and slowly gear down and at the same time apply the brakes or you can leave it out of gear and apply the brakes and the RPMs will eventually normalize as you come to a stop. It is not an emergency situation when this occurs. I have found that it is easy to deal with since it is a manual and therefore never decided to have a mechanic look at it. Comes with fancy, secret ninja key container for those times you lock yourself out of the truck. I will show you the combination and location after you buy the truck. Any additional photos you would like to see or information about the truck you would like to know please send a message and I will accommodate/answer. Being sold as is, no warranty, the truck is in good working condition.
