Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a wonderful survivor '73 Mustang Sportsroof with 61,204 actual original miles. Having had only two-owners since new, its original owner treated it like a show car and supposedly the car was never driven in the rain; the rust-free condition would support that. The second owners (an elderly couple) bought the Mustang from their neighbor (original owner) in 1983 with just under 60k miles, and proceeded to put fewer than 2,000 miles on the car during their entire ownership. They also treated it as a show car (one of several they owned), using only for fair-weather drives, cruise-ins, etc. It has been garaged and off the road since 1991, being started regularly to keep the engine in proper running order. It is a genuine time-capsule survivor, numbers-matching throughout, and still wearing original paint, interior, etc. The body is very straight, but not flawless; no major dings or dents. The original code 6E Medium Bright Yellow paint job still retains a beautiful shine. It has been touched up here and there, but has never been repainted, and the body does not have any rust issues to mention, not even small bubble beginnings. It has the optional rear deck lid pedestal-mount spoiler, which I think is one of the best options on these beautiful cars. It has a very nice chrome rear bumper with bumper guards, and also features the optional body-color front Endura urethane bumper. It now wears a 1973 Mach I front grill and rear tail panel trim, which I find a tasteful trim upgrade (original grill included). Optional stainless-steel wheel lip moldings are perfect, as are the rocker moldings. The wheels are basic 14 x 6" factory wheels in black, with chrome closed-end lug nuts for a tough muscle car appearance. Tires are a good set of classic BF Goodrich Radial T/As. The doors, hood, and truck open and close easily, without appreciable hinge wear... just about as new.The trunk is clean, without rust. The floor is repainted as original, the yellow is original and includes the factory jack instruction sticker. The engine is the original numbers-matching H-code 351 Cleveland 2v V8, a wonderful engine, factory stock from air cleaner to oil pan, and in perfect running condition. The only modification under the hood is the addition of a clear in-line fuel filer for practical maintenance purposes, and new tune-up parts for factory-fresh performance; the car runs perfectly. The transmission is Ford's bullet-proof C6 automatic, also in perfect running order. The original 9" rear end features a driver-friendly 2.75 rear axle ratio. Convenience features include Power Steering, and Power Disc Brakes. The brake system features a new master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders, and is in proper working order. The car drives and rides as nicely as it looks. The interior is the original Black Standard Bucket Seat interior, featuring the optional Tachometer and Gauge Package, as well as the Center Console. The upholstery is in fantastic condition throughout. The carpet has a couple of minor wear spots, but is original, still very black, and looks good. The only reason to replace it would be if you wanted it perfect. Very nice dash pad with no cracks, un-torn original headliner, nice door panels, etc. round out the interior. NO sun fade on the gauges, etc. The center console is in fantastic condition without breaks or repairs. Glass is original and excellent, windows roll up and down smoothly. If you are looking for an original, rust-free, low mile survivor car that will only appreciate in value, this is the car for you. They are only original once. Priced more than fairly; 1973 is the last year of the classic collectible Mustang, and this is a good on. Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for inspection, export, etc. You may call me at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have. Please, no zero- or low-feedback bidders without contacting me by phone prior to bidding. Please be prepared to remit payment in full within 3 days of auction's end via cash, major bank cashier's check (must wait for check to physically clear the issuing bank prior to releasing the vehicle and/or paperwork), deposit into my Bank of America account, or bank-to-bank wire transfer. Shipping is the FULL responsibility of the buyer; I can recommend an affordable broker, but the choice is yours alone. While every effort is being made to describe the Mustang as precisely as possible, it is in fact a 42-year-old classic, and therefore being sold exactly as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied.
