Vehicle Detail

2000 BMW 528IT Wagon w/ 165,000 miles. This car remains a dependable daily driver and has been on two family trips to NY in two years. It is a pleasure to drive, very fast and responsive, however I’m ready to upgrade to a post 2004 Series-7 for several reasons. (1)There are items that are not working or need attention to be 100%, I ‘m working 6 days a week and don’t have time to troubleshoot and repair. (2) It is too small for my family of 5, most of whom are over 6’. (3) As a real estate broker I need a later model car for hosting clients. The car was purchased as a project from an insurance auction, it was hit at the rear passenger door and wheel area (see pics). I’ve been through several systems on the car, such as; (1) cooling system: water pump, radiator, clutch fan and others parts replaced (2) Drive Train: flex disk, drive shaft bearing and both rear axles have been replaced. (3) All Brakes and rotors have been replaced within past 12 months. (4) Tires were replaced w/ comfortable all season performance tire w/ 1/3 life left. (5) Typical tune ups and Mobile 1 oil change regularly. (6) All season floor mats including cargo. (7) Replaced damaged door. (8) Replaced rear shocks and multiple rear suspension parts. (9) New ignition switch. (10) New head lamp + side lamp lenses & bulbs. (11) New battery last year and other small items (12) I have a couple spare wheels and tires with some tread left, also misc. small parts. It’s not that all the above parts broke, when servicing a system I often replaced all the wear components. Parts are inexpensive online, there are endless instructional websites, and also the cars are well designed and easy to replace parts. The following areas need attention. Air Condition: This worked great until last week, currently the compressor does not turn on via the interior switch. When I run a jumper to the compressor it engages and the system blows as cold as ever. I installed a new ignition switch that is a common issue for BMW’s, and bought a new ac fan but have not installed it. Instruments: This may be related to the air condition as they failed at the same time. Bright and turn signal indicator do not work on the dash, radio lost power. The exterior lights work perfect. ABS & Traction Control: The abs and traction control is not operational, I think I damaged a sensor when cleaning the wheels at a car wash. When traction control was working I always turned it off. When on, Traction control lowers the engine speed if the back tires spin, this is annoying when accelerating from a stop and would feel like the car lost power. Traction control is great in Germany during 8 months of snow, it’s a nuisance in sunny climates. The ABS does not affect normal braking, the car has newer rotors + brakes and stops on a dime. Misc. Rear passenger window needs new window regulator and switch, about $40 (new regulator) + $5 switch on eBay. This is about a 45 minute project, plenty of U-tube instructional videos, no special tools. Various interior and exterior imperfections as shown in photos. There are the usual oil leaks, not enough that you would have to add fluids between oil changes, but it will leave a few drops on your driveway overnight. Due to the minor accident the car has a salvage title. This is important if financing, otherwise it has not been an issue with getting insurance, title, plates or in any other area. This is NOT a flood car, just a fender bender resulting in an insurance buy-out. No deposit needed if picked up in 24 hours (cash), otherwise a phone call and $200 PayPal deposit will hold the car for 72 hours. I have a NC title in hand, no liens. If you want to ship, I’ll meet your hauler and load after funds have been wired to my bank, no checks of any kind accepted.
