This 1979 VW Super Beetle Karmann Convertible is original as far as I can tell and almost everything on it works. It has 26,075 original miles. We purchased the car from a friend in 2001 who was a collector and sold it because he was moving and didn’t have room for all his cars. He told us that it has not been wrecked but that it was repainted in the original color. He did not know why. We kept it garaged until the summer of 2009 when we moved and have kept it covered since. We take it out only 3-7 times a year and less now than in previous years. We replaced the tires and battery. We have it detailed once a year and take it to a shop with expertise for maintenance. The car runs and drives pretty well and brakes straight. Although we have owned VWs off and on since the early 1970s, we are far from experts on them but they have been dependable and fun for us. But we don’t drive it much anymore and we’re looking forward to retiring to a one-car condo in a few years. We will try and answer any questions you may have but you probably know more about it than we do. We are selling it as is, no warranties, expressed or implied…it’s a used car from the 70's.
