Vehicle Detail

I purchased this 1972 Suzuki J model in 1993 and it has been in my collection as an occasional rider ever since. The previous owner told me the the original crankshaft seals were replaced at 7500 hundred miles under Suzuki's 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. I have no reason to doubt him. The engine now has nearly 13,000 miles on it, but the speedometer has been replaced with a new old stock unit. I have given it a little exercise every season, whether just out for an early morning ride, or to local Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club events. It is always an attention getter. I am thinning my collection. I own four other GT750s so this one will go to a new home. I got serious about sprucing her up about two years ago. The engine was removed and the water pump was replaced with a new one. The frame and associated black parts were resprayed. The alloy engine covers were removed and polished. The wheels were completely disassembled, hubs and backing plates polished, and laced with new spokes. The rims are not new nor have they been rechromed, but they are very nice. I do not like the new rims that have a big "Takasago" stamped into the side, so I went with the best original ones I could find. The entire exhaust system was removed, cleaned out, and rechromed. I made sure my chromer left the stamped in warning on the exhaust intact. Both fenders, taillight bracket, front brake stays, handlebars, foot brake lever, shifter lever, passenger grab rail, coolant hose covers, flashers, shock absorbers, and a whole bunch of other stuff is either rechromed, replated, or new. All coolant hoses have been replaced with new genuine Suzuki. The bike starts on a touch of the starter button and runs as a GT750 should. Smoothly, powerfully, and quietly. All electrics work properly. All the body work has been professionally repainted to its original gaudy and glorious Candy Lavender. The paint is beautiful. The fuel tank has been professionally coated inside as well. The bolt on rubber intake manifolds have been replaced with new. The fuel tank emblems are NOS genuine Suzuki and the "Water Cooled" emblems are the best set of used ones I could find. The seat pan was blasted, painted, and fitted with a new proper pattern cover. I have over $400 into the seat alone. I have tried my best to keep it as original as possible right down to a nice pair of Suzuki "S" mirrors. New cables, sprockets, and O-ring chain have been fitted. Many other parts were attended to that I will inevitably forget to mention. Look carefully at the photos, they tell the story. This beautiful GT750 can be shown or driven. That will be up to the new owner. The bike has a clean Minnesota title in my name. Buyers with less than 5 feedback scores must contact me before bidding or risk having their bid removed. Payment in full is due within 10 days of the auction's end. I can store the bike in my warehouse for up to 60 days free of charge while the buyer makes all arrangements for shipping or pick up. Any and all forms of payment must clear my bank before the machine leaves my possession.
